Thoughtful Anniversary Gifts For Your Boyfriend

Anniversary gifts can be tough, but they shouldn’t have to be. We’ve picked out the cutest and most thoughtful gifts to show your love to your boyfriend on your upcoming anniversary. 3 months or 3 years, these gifts will make him swoon.

For those who are more creative, listen closely to the following DIY gifts. Gifts you have created yourself will certainly impress him, and even make him fall in love all over again.

“Open When…” Cards

Nine out of ten times, DIY gifts are the best gifts. Nothing says ‘I love you’ like putting your heart and soul into a gift for him. “Open When…” cards are the perfect example of that. Usually, you give these in sets of 10-12 cards. Label each envelope with “Open when you’re feeling sad”, “Open when you’re hungry”, “Open when you need a laugh”, etc. Each card is extremely personalized, but for inspiration refer to Pinterest. These are extremely meaningful and even better for long-distance relationships. Ship them in the mail without telling him and he’ll receive an amazing surprise.

Themed Gift Basket

You can never go wrong with a themed basket. Make it thoughtful by making it as specific to your man as possible. Does he like to fish? Stuff the box with gummy worms, a Mystery Tackle Box, a personalized fishing hook, fishing apparel, such as a Patagonia shirt, etc. These don’t always have to be expensive. Fill a basket with popcorn, candy, and other movie-snacks and enjoy a movie night together! There are endless options for this cute and creative gift.

“First…” Shadow Box

I’m in love with this idea, and will definitely be making this for my boyfriend in the future. You really can’t get more thoughtful than the “First…” shadow box. You pick your favorite or most important ‘firsts’. Examples of these can include your first kiss, first ‘I love you’, ‘First date’, etc. The whole point is to put the map location of where each happened right under them. Besides ‘firsts’, you can also do important places, like where you met, your favorite spot to go together, etc. Not only is this a great idea, but it allows you to spoil him with multiple anniversary gifts. This gift is guaranteed to make his heart melt.

DIY Cooler

Of all the anniversary gifts I’ve given, this is by far my favorite. First, you need to order a sanded and primed cooler. This is the easiest option, as they come ready-to-paint, instead of needing to sand and prime a cooler yourself. You will also need to purchase acrylic paints, Mod Podge, sealer, as well as Sharpies, pencils, brushes, etc. Remember to personalize the cooler to things your boyfriend loves. Ideas include his favorite sports team, a team he plays for, his favorite band, the school he attends, etc. This will be perfect for him to bring to any beach day, BBQ, or any outdoor event. Below is the cooler I created for my boyfriend last year.

Maybe you’re not the creative type, and that’s okay. There are plenty of thoughtful anniversary gifts that can be easily ordered online.

Wallet Insert Card

Men always carry their wallets with them and now you can be there too. With a wallet insert card, you can write him a short love message that he can keep in his pocket 24/7. What makes this even more personal is that you can even send a picture of something you have handwritten and they will engrave it in the steel card. A different option is to just type your message into the sellers ‘message’ box and pick a font and they’ll take care of it for you. These make an adorable addition to any man’s wallet!

Retro Style Photo Canvas

Everybody has a favorite photo. With the Retro Style Photo Canvas, giving thoughtful gifts is easier than ever. Pick your favorite photo of you and your boyfriend to work with. When ordering, you pair it with a related caption. For example say the picture is of you and him on New Year’s Eve 2018, caption it that with that date. You will be sent a giant polaroid-looking canvas to hang on the wall and enjoy every day. For longer relationships, order multiple canvases’ to line up next to each other and allow your wall to tell the story.

Personalized Keychain

If your boyfriend is always on the move, this is the perfect gift for him. A personalized keychain can be taken anywhere he goes, whether it’s on his car keys, apartment keys, his backpack zipper, anywhere. The message is what makes this gift unique. Some great ideas for these keychains are “Drive safe I love you”, “Wherever you go come back to me”, or even the latitude and longitude coordinates of where you met, started dating, or first said ‘I love you’. This gift is a reminder to him that you’re thinking of him even when you’re not right there with him. This will be extra special for those in long-distance relationships.
