10 Things That Will Happen When You Stop Wearing Makeup

Wearing minimal makeup is one thing, but to stop wearing makeup all together is oftentimes hard for some. There are, however, a number of benefits that stem from taking part in the movement; these don’t just apply to physical changes – but mental changes as well – as you begin to see yourself differently. In turn, we’ve compiled a list of 10 things that will happen when you stop wearing makeup – so that you can know what to expect when preparing for your transition.

1. You’ll Begin To Feel A Lot More Confident.

You’ve used makeup for so long – that seeing yourself without it on discourages you. In turn, you’d rather go out with a thin line of eyeliner than with none at all. Well, get ready for that to change because even though the first couple of weeks may take some getting used to, you’ll find yourself feeling a lot more comfortable as the days go by. Then you may wonder what it was that made you wear makeup in the first place as you gain your confidence back bit by bit.

2. You’ll Begin To Love Your Natural Face Just The Way It Is.

Have you forgotten yourself underneath the foundation, contour, highlight, eyeshadow, lipstick, and everything else in between? If so, then it may be time to ditch the makeup altogether. In doing so, you’ll begin to appreciate your natural beauty all the more. Maybe you see a certain birthmark, or feel as though you have dark spots or odd-shaped lips; no matter what the reason might be, it will grow more and more insignificant when you stop wearing makeup.

3. Your Skin Will Begin To Clear Up.

Could you wish for anything more amazing? We all dream of having kind pores — but sometimes our face has a mind of its own. Fortunately, when you stop wearing makeup – and set it aside – you’ll begin to notice your skin clearing up. In turn, if you struggle with breakouts, they’ll become way less frequent – and even non-existent – without the added oils and chemicals; instead, the only thing that you’ll have to worry about is your face’s natural oils if you struggle with acne.

4. You’ll Have A Lot More Money To Spend On Other Things.

Remember all the money you were having to spend on MAC Cosmetics products and other similar brands? Well, now you don’t have to — and can save your wallet in the process. In fact, the less you spend on makeup, the more you’ll have to put towards more important things; one of those might even be your savings account. Not only that, but you won’t have to cry each month at the sight of your bank statement; for all the items that you may have purchased before no longer have a direct effect.

5. You’ll Be Able To Rub Your Face Freely.

Isn’t it the best feeling ever to be able to rub your eyelids without the fear of accidentally smearing a whole bunch of liner, or top shadow, all the way across your face? This is one of the biggest benefits that you’ll find when you stop wearing makeup, so why not save yourself the embarrassment of stepping out with a smudged up mess? Not only that, but you don’t have to worry about makeup running or fading.

6. You’ll Feel A Lot More Awake.

If eye makeup always seems to wear you down, then get ready for the boost of energy that you’ll feel when you stop wearing beauty products altogether. In fact, you’ll no longer feel drowsy from the weight of your eyeliner or eye shadow. After all, the last thing that you want is for your eyes to sting or feel heavy.

7. Your Eyes Will Begin To Water A Whole Lot Less.

We all know how brutal it can be when you get makeup in the inside of your eye; this is especially true for those who wear contacts because there is nothing worse than black eyeliner pooling around its perimeter. But even if you don’t wear contacts, you’ll still deal with the same struggle at least once in your life; consequently, this isn’t good for your pupil and can cause irritation.

8. You’ll Have A Lot More Time On Your Hands.

Try and calculate how many hours you spend in a week’s time doing your makeup? It’s possible that considering such a thing could shock you; for you may not have realized just how much you waste on completing each look. In turn, each and every minute can be put towards something more as you set aside the blush brush.

9. People Will Begin To Notice You For You.

Your face is no longer hidden — and even though you might not believe it, as you begin to embrace it, so will others. Some may comment on your complexion, while others may comment on how beautiful your brows are, and so on. This serves as a boost of confidence, making you all the more proud of who you are.

10. You Will Begin To Find Other Ways To Spice Up Your Look.

Maybe wearing makeup served as a way for you to add a pop of color to the outfit that you’d chosen for that day. Well, now that you’ve quit wearing it you’ll begin to find creative new ways to spice up your look. Fortunately, this is a lot more fun than you might expect by giving you the opportunity to mix and match in abundance. In turn, you can do whatever you want – from coloring your hair to switching up your style.

We hope that these 10 things that will happen when you stop wearing makeup give you a better idea of what to expect as you transition from all makeup to none at all. Don’t forget to share and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
