It’s already 2018, I can still remember singing along to single ladies (which came out 10 years ago! feel old yet) even though I was 12 and didn’t fully understand what “put a ring on it” meant. Here are over 50 songs, some older than others and some you will have completely forgotten about, which you need to add to your throwback playlist:


Most of these songs are the ones you will not be able to get out of your head once you listen to them and you’re going to remember how much you loved them before. (Most of these are cheesy songs, some of which you’d rather leave in the past)

1. Hey there Delilah – Plain white T’s – this song is a huge throwback to 2005, to before phones and easy access to computers, can anyone even remember when they first even heard this song?


2. Rude – Magic – this is more recent but I bet you forgot all about this song

4. Payphone – Maroon 5

5. Young – Tulisa – I can’t be the only one who remembers Tulisa in the top charts back in 2012, this song will bring back memories

6. Beauty and a beat – Justin Bieber – this song marked Justin’s transformation from boy to man, this was back when he and Selena Gomez were a thing

9. Call me maybe – Carly Rae Jepson – little did I know the music video would be a representation of my life a few years later

13. E.T – Katy Perry – my innocent 10 year old self had no idea what was going on in the music video

16. She said – Plan B – you might not know this song by it’s name but you will definitely remember it if you listen to it

18. Telephone – Lady Gaga

00’s R&B may just be the best kind of music, these include some of the best tracks from Beyonce, Ne-yo and Rihanna.

21. Closer – Ne-yo – Ne-yo may just be the best 00’s R&B artist

24. Miss Independent – Ne-yo – my 8 year old self was too young to appreciate this precious song

29. Unfaithful – Rihanna – this song got me feeling sorry for cheating on my boyfriend I didn’t have when I was 6, I can’t be the only one

These are the best break up songs from back in the day, you know the time we were all like 12 and had no one to cry over but still felt these songs in the depths of our hearts.

48. You belong with me – Taylor Swift – ahh I miss the old Taylor, also I know you secretly had a crush on the guy from the music video


49. A year without rain – Selena Gomez and The Scene – remember when Selena Gomez made loads of songs with The Scene whilst she was on The Wizards Of Waverly Place

50. Popular Song – MIKA and Ariana Grande – we can all relate to this song, maybe not poisoning everyone at the end of the music video though

51. Tell me something I don’t know – Selena Gomez – this song was the movie Another Cinderella Story where Selena Gomez was Cinderella, this was one of the best movies from my childhood including Starstruck and Twitches.


52. Love story – Taylor Swift – I still believe this is one of the greatest love songs ever

53. I Wish – Cher Lloyd


54. Wings – Little Mix – this was Little Mix’s first song after the X-Factor and everyone fell in love with them

55. The Climb – Miley Cyrus – this was back in her Disney Channel days before the mental breakdown
