The top 10 Cities in the US to Look for Jobs in After Graduation

Thinking about life after graduation can be a scary thing. One of the most important things to consider is where you want to end up living. Here are 10 of the best cities to start job hunting in throughout the US as a young working individual.

1. Chicago

If you are coming from a Big Ten university in the midwest, chances are a good amount of your graduating class is moving to Chicago to pursue their career and live their best life as young 20 somethings. Chicago is a great place to move after graduation, it is the New York of the med west! So many young professionals your age, so much to do, so much to see, and it is centrally located making it easy to travel to and from. The job opportunities are also a great plus. lots of jobs, lots of options, and lots of big companies hiring newly graduated people. The night life is also great for meeting new friends and people in general! With dozens of cozy Irish pubs that draw in a great crown of young people to all the crazy sports bars luring in fans from around the city, there is always a great place to go out. AN din a city like this, you can go to a new place each weekend and never get bored! Another awesome plus is you do not need a car. Now many people do still drive in Chicago, but it is definitely not necessary with the public transportation system that had trains running both above ground and under ground. Save money on car payments and treat yourself to a fun dinner!

2. Nashville

Ohhhh Nashville. One of the most popular bachelorette and bachelor party destinations in the country after Vegas. This city is always poppin! There is not much in life that music can not help solve, and of you love music Nashville is the city for you. Everyone in Nashville is either a musician or music lover. You are destined to meet amazing and interesting people in this progressive southern city.

But maybe city life is not quite your speed and you need some more nature in your everyday scenery. If that is the case check out Denver Colorado! Your daily commute to work is full of mountain views and lovely people. Denver is a current hot spot for young professionals straight out of college. I hear nothing but good things from this incredible city.

4. Austin

Another current hot spot for young professionals is Austin Texas. Everyone just raves about Austin. Although it is located in Texas, deep in the south, it has blossomed into an exciting and progressive city filled with people in their 20’s. People looking to fill their life with fun, adventure, and lots of sun will move themselves to Austin.

5. Boston

What rhymes with Austin… Boston! Well kinda. The two could not be more different though. Boston is a great east coast alternative to the craziness of New York City.

6. New York City

Which leads us into the next city for young college grads, New York City! New York New York the city that never sleeps, where dreams are made of. Odds are if you move to one of the most amazing cities in the world straight out of college you may be struggling for a little bit. Roommates, small apartment, working on a budget, the list goes on and on. But the up side is that you live in one of the best cities in the entire world. You are exposed to so many talented, smart, iconic, and amazing individuals that you can not find anywhere else. Another plus is that you will not need a car, which is one less expense in your month that can instead go towards fun stuff like clothes and nightlife! Your life will feel like a movie in New York City. Eventually you will find your very own Sex and the City gang and even a Mr. Big or two. Moving to New York will be incredible right out of college, but be prepared for the struggle that lies ahead.

The city is also filled with lots of job opportunities making it a great destination for after graduation work and adventure.

Portland Oregon is the perfect place for  you if you are obsessed with art and nature. As a creative and progressive city located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, you have the opportunity to all kinds of amazing outdoor adventures and explore the famous art scene that the city has to offer.

There is nothing quite like the West Coast. it has so much to offer from beaches to mountains there is a wide range of things that appeal to young people. San Francisco is a great West Coast city to move to after graduation. You will be surrounded by young people, artsy people, and hardworking people trying to make it in one of the greatest west coast cities. In just a couple hours you can be in Los Angeles, but then resort home up north where the traffic is less and the people are more down to earth. San Fran is also a huge hotspot in the world of tech so if you are looking at any career paths in that field this may be the perfect place for you.

I feel like everyone in America deep down has that southern belle dream. Charleston is a great place to live it out. The aesthetics are charming, the southerners are welcoming, and the nature is beautiful. It is a great city to make life long friends and meet genuine people.
