The Ten Best Products From Trader Joe’s

Let me start off by saying that this list was impossible to make. Trader Joe’s has so many amazing products—how could I possibly whittle it down to ten? I tried my very hardest to limit myself to the ten best products, and here they are:

1. Chili Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips

I don’t know the official name of this product—I just call it Trader Joe’s Takis. Chili Lime Roller Corn Tortilla Chips is kind of a mouthful. And speaking of which, I could eat hundreds of mouthfuls of them in one sitting. (Bad joke, I know). If you’re sensitive to spice, this might not be the product for you. I can tolerate some levels of spice, and though I don’t always go out of my way for spicy food, I’ll drop everything to eat these chips. They’re incredibly flavorful and definitely pack a punch, but they won’t catch your mouth on fire.

2. Dark Chocolate Drizzled Plantain Chips

The Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Drizzled Plantain Chips are the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I was already a huge fan of plantain chips before I tried this product. I have to say, this is an improvement from the original. The dark chocolate pairs so nicely with the chips, even though it’ll melt on your fingers. This is my favorite snack to pick at when I’m hungry-bored.

3. Overnight Oats

This may be a controversial take, but the overnight oats at Trader Joe’s are a must-have. Overnight oats are a very divisive food (I get it, it’s a textural thing). Even if you think you won’t like it, at least give it a try. The Trader Joe’s overnight oats are perfect for when you’re rushing out the door and need breakfast. They’re creamy, nourishing, and come in two flavors: vanilla and almond butter. But get this—in the fall, they sell pumpkin overnight oats. That one is my absolute favorite of the three flavors.

4. Butternut Squash Mac And Cheese

Speaking of autumn, the Butternut Squash Mac And Cheese is another seasonal must-have. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this is one of the best mac and cheeses I’ve ever had. Yes, I realize that it’s microwavable and therefore should be “lesser” quality. It’s not, though. What it is is amazing. The cheese will melt in your mouth and there’s just the right amount of butternut squash flavoring. Complete your Halloween movie nights with a glass of apple cider and a gigantic bowl of this mac and cheese.

5. Pancake Bread

Sometimes when you go to Trader Joe’s, you won’t find what you’re looking for. That’s the one risk of shopping there: a lot of products go by fast. There’s only one product that always seems to be there, and that’s their Pancake Bread. How to describe Pancake Bread? To sum it up in one word, it’s delicious. Think coffee cake, but instead of cinnamon, it’s mainly brown sugar. It’s light like a pancake but comes as a loaf. Pancake Bread is the greatest way to start your day–it’s like having two breakfast foods in one!

6. Candy Cane Almonds

Clearly, I have a sweet tooth. I also have a thing for seasonal products. These are my go-tos when I want something for dessert but want to be somewhat healthy. While I don’t know or care about the nutritional information of these, I feel like the pinnacle of fitness when I eat them. Plus, they put me right in the holiday spirit. I can’t imagine a better December night than one that involves Candy Cane Chocolate Covered Almonds and a Christmas movie.

7. Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

I mean, obviously I have to include this product. The chokehold the Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel Seasoning has on this country is wild. I don’t even have to tell you how flavorful this seasoning is; it tastes exactly like a bagel, minus the bread. It enhances everything it touches, from breakfast sandwiches to salmon dinners. Needless to say, the Everything But The Bagel Sesame is a staple for your pantry. You’ll definitely find it stuck in your teeth later, though.

8. Frozen Hashbrowns

If you couldn’t already tell from the bagel sesame and the overnight oats, breakfast is my favorite meal. There’s one other product that’ll turn your breakfasts from glum to yum, and that’s the Trader Joe’s Frozen Hashbrowns. My ideal breakfast is a bagel with a hashbrown, fried egg, sriracha sauce, and cheese sandwiched in between. That meal will turn even the biggest night owls into early risers. Swap sriracha for hot honey for some extra sweetness!

9. Paneer Tikka Masala

Paneer tikka masala is one of my favorite dishes, and while it’s not the same as takeout, the Trader Joe’s frozen version hits. Sometimes the sauce overpowers the cheese in paneer masala, but every flavor shines here. And for a microwaveable meal, it’s surprisingly filling. Being a college student, I’ve had my fair share of frozen Trader Joe’s meals. This one is definitely one of the better options.

10. Soft And Juicy Mango

Hear me out on this one. The Softy And Juicy Mango is so simple, yet so good. I’m really picky with dried fruit but this is a solid 10/10. True to its name, the mangos are incredibly juicy. They’re not overwhelmingly sweet but will still satisfy your cravings. And though they stick to your teeth, they’re not difficult to chew (like some other dried mangos I’ve had). Another bonus is that they’re almost always in stock. Get a pack before I buy them out! I hoard them in my pantry.
