The Best Snacks to Make for Cheering On The Raptors In The NBA Finals

It feels like just yesterday when Kawhi Leonard turned the 6ix upside down with his legendary buzzer beater, which secured the Raptors a place in the Eastern Conference Finals. We’ll all be watching them anxiously to see if they can win it all and put Toronto on the map. While the Raptors are hungry for success, you’re probably just as hungry for the best snacks that you can get your hands on. We’ve got your back and have curated a list of the best snack recipes that are also easy to make so you don’t have to miss a second of the game. P.S. These recipes are all vegetarian-friendly, and feel free to add or substitute anything to your heart’s content!

Seven Layer Mexican Dip

This is one of the best snacks to make if you’re looking for something that will keep you surprised and wanting more. We chose seven layers in honor of one of our favorite players, number 7, Kyle Lowry. What’s awesome about a layered dip is that there are so many variations to it, as long as your desired toppings can stay on your chip from the bowl to your mouth! We recommend starting with a layer of refried beans, topped with a layer of cheese, then guacamole, then salsa, before finishing it with bell peppers, olives, and jalapenos.

Loaded Jalapeno Poppers

Jalapeno poppers are the best snacks to make if you’re looking for something relatively mess free and bursting with flavor. The first step is to heat up your oil to 325F so that it’ll be ready for deep frying when you’re finished preparing your poppers. Next, stir your favorite cheese blend until they’re combined together. We recommend using something creamy like goat cheese or cream cheese with cheddar or mozzarella. Cut your jalapenos in at the top and bottom, and scoop out the seeds. It’s really important to get rid of all the seeds while cutting your jalapenos! These upcoming games will be spicy enough. Next, fill your hollow jalapenos with your cheese mixture. Looking to add some protein to these poppers? Wrap them in a slice of bacon! To prep them for deep frying, coat your poppers in a mixture of flour and salt, dip them in a beaten egg, before covering it in breadcrumbs or panko. Fry them for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Once cooled, they’re all ready for munching!

Beer Cheese Fondue

Umm WTF is beer cheese fondue? Did we really just combine two of your favorite things to make one of the best snacks ever? No need to pinch yourself because you’re not dreaming. Beer cheese fondue exists and it is legendary. This recipe is so simple to make and will probably make an appearance at every party you host from now on. Saute some onion and garlic in butter before adding your favorite pale ale to the saucepan. Bring the beer mixture to a boil before letting it cool down to medium-low heat. In a separate bowl, mix together your favorite cheeses and some flour to prevent them from clumping. Pour your cheese mixture into the saucepan and cook until everything is melted to ooey-gooey perfection.
