The Best Places to Visit in Florida

Summer is here and your vacation needs planning! Florida has all the sunshine one could ever ask for. This state is full of breathtaking views and relaxing coastlines. Florida doesn’t only cater to those looking to sit back and relax, there is plenty of adventure for all to see.

1. Key West

Key West is known for its clear waters, snorkeling, fishing and laid-back environment. It offers more than just beaches, there is a lot of history as well. Fun fact: the southernmost point of the country is there! Make sure to visit the Naval Air Station and to see the different parks around the island.

2. Siesta Key

Siesta Key is all about what you make it. With 4 distinct areas on the beach you will never run out of options as you can go parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing, fishing, sailing, biking and more while being right next to the Gulf of Mexico.

3. Tigertail Beach, Marco Island

If you are not into the crazy beach crowd, try this calmer spot with beautiful and bright white sand. The Gulf is at your toes and you can book a wildlife tour to be adventurous in visiting all the native birds and animals.

4. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

This park is not only historic, but has also been referred to as one of the best beaches in the entire country. You can see the oldest standing structure in the Miami area and visit the authentic and natural harbor. You can even camp right on the beach.

5. Blowing Rocks Preserve, Hobe Sound

This is a site you normally would not expect to see in Florida. This preserve on Jupiter Island will give you a unique beach experience with waves crashing up to 50 feet in the air, erosion holes and even maritime hammocks!

6. Molasses Reef

Six miles off Key Largo is the continent’s only living coral reef, which provides some of the best snorkeling site environments in the world. The amount of tropical fish there is something you have to see for yourself.

7. Crystal River

Crystal River is linked by more than 30 springs and continues to connect to the Gulf of Mexico and Kings Bay. This river offers snorkeling, kayaking, and canoeing opportunities with some of the friendliest manatees.

8. Rainbow Springs State Park

Although these waterfalls are man-made, they are made for man to see. The beauty of the water is breathtaking. The area’s wildlife is incredibly diverse and exotic.

9. Anna Maria Island

Beautiful turquoise waters and white sandy beaches are the main attractions here. The island offers quaint cottages by the sea, deluxe suites, million-dollar villas and rustic cottages. This is a part of Florida you must travel to, as it has been deemed as the last remaining part of “Old Florida” by many locals.

10. St. Cloud

Often nicknamed “Solider City” due to its origin as a retirement community for Civil War veterans, St. Cloud is close to the Orlando area. For the more adventurous traveler, it may surprise you with some of the most thrilling zip lining ever. This takes you through 4,700 acres of Florida’s most pristine nature preserves while traveling on the ONLY zipline roller coaster in the U.S.

Hope this made you want to go visit Florida and that you get a chance to experience all it has to offer. Have a great summer!
