10 Stellar Cocktail Recipes That Will Quench Your Thirst

When you’re in the mood for a delicious beverage, look no further than this list of some of the most amazing cocktail recipes you’ll ever taste!  These drinks are cool, refreshing, and excellent with a meal or just on their own.  Don’t gulp down these too quickly, or you might just miss the amazing mixtures of flavor!

1) Mojito

This refreshing beverage is both fruity and minty, and all sweet!  You may even be tempted to try a virgin mohito first, just so you can get a true appreciation of the complicated various flavors.  Of course, it’s just as delicious with rum, so try it any way you want.  It’s a good beverage to keep by your side as you lay back in the sun and relax.  To make a mojito, you’ll need a bunch of fresh mint leaves, half a lime, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 1 cup of ice cubes, 1.5 fluid ounces of white rum, and a half cup of club soda.  Begin by slicing your half lime into four wedges.  Take one wedge, along with your mint leaves, and put it into your cup.  You will want to use a muddler or some improvised kitchen equipment to mash the lime and mint, releasing the lime juices and the mint flavors.  Next, add in two more lime wedges and your sugar.  Muddle this again, and fill your cup with ice.  Pour in your rum, and then fill any leftover space with club soda.  Stir thoroughly, and the mojito is ready!  Any leftover sugar can be added to taste, as well as leftover mint or lime used as garnish.  Enjoy your cool, sugary drink!

2) Cosmopolitan

The Cosmo is a classic, and for good reason.  While a simple cocktail recipe, it has strong flavors, consisting mainly of incredible tartness and sweetness.  To make this fruity martini, you will need 1.5 ounces of citrus vodka, 1 ounce of cointreau (a French, orange flavoured-liqueur), 1/2 ounce of lime juice, and a dash of cranberry juice.  Like the mojito, it can also use a lime wheel as a garnish.  Simply pour all your liquid ingredients into a shaker, along with some ice, and thoroughly shake.  Strain your beverage into a chilled glass, and your Cosmpolitan is ready to drink.

3) Hurricane Punch

Another fruity option, the hurricane punch is an amazing combination of tropical flavors.  This drink might just make you believe you’re in the Caribbean!  This fantastic punch requires 2 cups of orange juice, 1 cup of lime juice, 1 cup of pineapple juice, 1/2 cup of passion fruit syrup, as well as ice, silver rum, dark rum, and grenadine.  Start by mixing your fruit juices and syrups together, keeping it all chilled.  When you are ready to serve the punch, pour some into a cup of ice, followed by a few ounces of silver rum, one ounce of dark rum, and 1 ounce of grenadine.  You can garnish it with many different fruit, including cherries, limes, or oranges.  This drink is great for large parties!

4) Strawberry Daiquiri

One of the thicker cocktail recipes, strawberry daiquiris are cold, smooth, and fruity.  To make this, you’ll need 6 cups of ice, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 4 ounces of frozen strawberries, 1/8 cup of lime juice, 1/2 cup of lemon juice, 3/4 cup of rum, and 1/4 cup of a citrus flavored carbonated beverage, like Sprite or lime seltzer water.  This is a simple recipe if you have a blender, as all you need to do is blend your ingredients in two steps.  Start by blending the ice, sugar, and strawberries.  The step after that is to add the lime and lemon juice, rum, and Sprite.  Blend until smooth, and this smoothie-like drink is perfect!

5) Aperol Spritz

The Aperol Spritz is a more simple yet subtle drink originating from Italy.  It’s main ingredients are prosecco, a sweet Italian white wine, and Aperol, an Italian bitter.  To make it, you’ll need 3 ounces of prosecco, 2 ounces of Aperol, and 1 ounce of soda water.  Mix all these ingredients in a cup with some ice, and your beautiful orange beverage will be ready!  This is another drink popular in the summers, due to its refreshing taste and sunset-like hue.

6) Mai Tai

This Polynesian-associated beverage is the essential drink to Tiki drink culture, but is easy enough to make at home, and tasty enough that you’ll want to.  To make a Mai Tai, you’ll need 1 ounce of jigger spiced rum, 1 ounce of jigger coconut rum, 1 teaspoon of grenadine, 3 ounces of pineapple juice, 2 ounces of orange juice, and 1 cup of ice cubes.  Pour all your ingredients into a cocktail mixer, which you will shake thoroughly, and strain into your ready cups.  This is a perfect drink for a fun, lively time!

7) White Russian

This cocktail recipe is considered sophisticated and classy, although some might see it as an adult milkshake.  But it’s simple, creamy, and delicious, so it’s definitely worth anyone’s time.  This recipe needs 2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of kahlúa (a coffee liqueur), and 1 splash of heavy cream.  Pour your vodka and kahlúa into a glass, top it off with your heavy cream, and mix it all up.  This creamy beverage is a great introduction to cocktails.

8) Negroni

For all the sweet choices on this list, Negroni is the opposite.  It is bitter and subtle, with hints of cherry and citrus, and is more of an aquired taste.  To make the Negroni cocktail, you’ll need an ounce of gin, an ounce of Campari (a fruit and herb liqueur), and 1 ounce of sweet vermouth.  Pour your ingredients into a mixing glass, shake vigorously, and pour into a cup with ice.  Enjoy one of the more sophisticated beverages you’ll ever find.

9) Corpse Reviver

This drink is named due to its reputation as the hangover cure.  For this drink, you’ll need 3/4 ounce of gin, 3/4 ounce of orange liqueur, 3/4 ounce of Lillet blanc (a French aromatic wine), 3/4 lemon juice, and enough absinthe to rinse your glass of choice.  Once that glass has been rinsed with absinthe, pour your ingredients into a drink mixer, shake it up, and serve in your prepared glass.  See if this strong drink really is the hangover cure!

10) Elderflower Collins

The final cocktail recipe is subtle but distinct, tasting perfume-y or like rose.  This Collins needs 1.5 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of lemon juice, 1/2 ounce of elderflower cordial, and 5 oucnes of soda water.  Mix all your ingredients and pour into ice, and this subtly sweet drink!
