12 Spring Break Staycation Ideas Perfect For College Students

Spring Break is a monumental rite of passage for most college students. However, not all students are able to make their way home (or to some exotic destination), and are often forced to stay on campus. If you are one of these students, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun or find something to do with your time. OR, if you are planning on going back home, but won’t be joining those sunning in Cabo or sightseeing in Rome, there are plenty of things for you to do to enjoy your Spring Break staycation! Here are 12 Spring Break staycation ideas for you and/or your friends!

There will be several movies coming out the week of spring break, so make a day out of it and treat yourself to some fro-yo!

2. Take a picnic on the campus lawn.

Grab a buddy, a book, or just enjoy some alone time with the fresh air while getting extra Vitamin D from the sun. Make a run to the grocery store or your favorite cafe and pick up your some outdoor-friendly and easily pack-able foods.

Museums hold many great treasures from a time before you stepped into your campus city. It is a great way to get to know the place where you are currently spending the majority of your time.

4. Go without your phone.

Take some time away from all those social networking sites that rule the world. Try going an entire day with your phone left tucked away in your room. It’ll feel weird at first, but by the end of the day, I can almost guarantee you’ll feel liberated.

5. DIY.

There are tons and tons of DIY projects that you can find online. Whether you want to spruce up your dorm room or your wardrobe, visit Pinterest to find all kinds of do it yourself time-passers.

6. Have a mini spa day.

Pamper yourself. You deserve it after endless lectures and hand-cramping notes. All this day should consist of is you sitting back and relaxing without a care in the world. Give yourself a mani-pedi, take a hot bubble bath, or even make an appointment for a massage at a local spa.

7. Get some rest.

As college students, we are all a little sleep deprived. Use this down time wisely and catch up on some much-needed sleep. By doing so, you will go back to school rejuvenated and ready to finish the semester strong!
