10 Spiked Seltzer Brands To Try This Summer

I’m going to be honest here. I’m not a major drinker, and when I do drink it’s typically a glass of wine with my friends and family or a cider down by the firepit on a hot summer evening.

With that said, I couldn’t help but find enjoyment while researching these spiked seltzers, a perfect addition to your summer party list, because each and every seltzer is so different — from the bottle, it is encased into the drink itself. Each spiked seltzer I’ve included on this list has its own flair and flavour to it, making the process of researching these 10 brands all the more fun.

The nice thing about spiked seltzers is that the company has pretty much mixed the drink for you, adding in and featuring different flavours that’ll be sure to excite your tastebuds. You don’t have to mix anything yourself — just grab and go!

1. White Claw

The company that created White Claw is also responsible for the age-old favourite Mike’s Hard Lemonade. There is no malt used in this spiked seltzer but is infused with fruit juice and cane sugar for some added sweetness.

This spiked seltzer comes in four different flavours: black cherry, ruby grapefruit, raspberry, and natural lime, all of which are great summery drink flavours. It offers a taste as crisp and refreshing as if you were catching the wave captured in the drink’s imagery.

2. Briggs

This spiked seltzer only has three ingredients that make up this excellent hard seltzer: filtered water, alcohol from cold-brewed sugar, and fruit juice from real fruit. This means that there are no artificial flavours, no added sugar, no preservatives. What more could you really want from an acoholic drink?

You can get this yummy drink in three bursting flavours — cranberry, grapefruit, and pineapple — and all of them will be a perfect addition to any of your summer plans!

3. Henrys

What I love about this hard seltzer is that it’s very low in calories, coming in at 88 calories, and it’s also on the lower end of the alcoholic spectrum. I’m most definitely not a calorie counter in my everyday life, but I think when it comes to alcohol I don’t want to use up a bunch of calories on a simple alcoholic drink. Give me the pizza and pasta for that!

This hard seltzer comes in three flavours — lemon-lime, passion fruit, and strawberry kiwi — and is also a spin-off of Henry’s Hard Soda! You can’t go wrong with this one!

4. Nauti

Nauti, paying homage to the nautical lifestyle of life on the sea, this hard selzter will transport you on a boat in the middle of Nantucket, Greece or anywhere else the sea comes calling. It comes in several flavours — black cherry, blueberry lemonade, mixed berry, and watermelon, and raspberry — which are quite unique flavours compared to the flavours the other spiked selzters offer. I’ve never had a watermelon or blueberry lemonade drink but I’m very curious about them and want to try them ASAP.

5. Bon & Viv Spiked Seltzer

This is a seriously cool spiked selzter with an equally cool outer image and flavour list. The image is of two symmetrical mermaids holding onto one triton, each coloured differently depending on the flavour. Which brings me to my favourite part of the drink: the flavours!

The names are reminiscent of kombucha flavours but I am here for it: Pear Elderflower, Clementine Hibiscus, and Black Cherry Rosemary. What I love about these unique flavours is that they mix seemingly strange combinations, like black cherry and rosemary, into a drink that really satisfies the tastebuds!

6. Vista Bay

Vista Bay is another good and reasonably priced option for those looking to spruce up their summer with some tropical and delicious flavours. With four flavours — natural lime, black cherry, ruby grapefruit, and coconut mango — this hard seltzer is a new favourite for many people.

It was a huge moment for people who are fans of ALDI when the international supermarket chain released these drinks. Only way to find out if they are worth the hype is to try it!

7. Smirnoff

Oh, Smirnoff. A classic. This spiked seltzer comes in several flavours — cranberry lime, watermelon, and berry lemonade — to inspire your tastebuds on a hot summer’s day. I’m most interested in the berry lemonade flavour because it just sounds so. darn. good. There’s also a Raspberry Rosé flavour. Can you say Yes Way, Rosé fast enough?

8. Nütrl

Nütrl’s Vodka Soda has no sugar, no carbs, no sweetener, no preservatives and no additives in them. Talk about a natural Nütrl kind of drink. Its made with premium vodka soda and is available in several flavours, including lemon, lime, grapefruit, cranberry, and pineapple. What’s unique about this one is that it’s also Made in Canada, which is one of the few on this list. Be confident that this vodka seltzer is as clean as an alcoholic drink can be and that you’ll enjoy it from start to finish, without any guilt.

9. Social Lite

I have to say I truly appreciate a good pun, so I was pretty excited about this one when I researched it. Like a good number of the spiked seltzers on this list, this one is also made with 100% natural flavours, and the flavours are field strawberry, blood orange, lemon cucumber mint, grapefruit pomelo, lime ginger, and pineapple mango. I’m particularly interested in grapefruit pomelo and lime ginger because they are so unique!

Like Nütrl this is also a Canadian-made vodka and blends premium vodka with sparkling water and 100% natural flavours. Bonus: This brand also offers a spiked peach iced tea! Yum!

10. Willie’s Superbrew

Aside from the drink itself, I just love the design on the outside of the can. It’s very modern and, dare I say, even modernist? I feel like it’s front design is so unique that I’d want to drink it just for that reason. What’s that saying about not judging a book by its cover? Well, I’m judging and I’m liking.

It’s as clean and crisp on the outside as it is on the inside. Willie’s Superbrew ingredients list is quite minimal, too. The brands Ginger and Lemon drink is made with water, alcohol from fermentation, ginger, brown sugar, lemon concentrate and turmeric. Yes, turmeric. Now, this is a spiked seltzer I can get behind. It touts itself as part spiked seltzer, part hard cider, and part kombucha.

A modern day – and cleaner – version of a lot of spiked seltzers out there, Willie’s Superbrew is definitely on my list this summer. Plus, aside from its Ginger and Lemon flavoured drink, the brand also offers two more delicious flavours: Mango and Passionfruit and Pomegranate and Açai! What’s even better about this company is that 3% of their profits are donated to an environmental cause every year, and you get to decide! 2019 nominations are open now so you can help make a change in this world!
