Sandal Trends For This Summer We Love

Are you looking to get a pair of sandals but you’re not sure which ones to get so early in the season? For this summer there are a variety of sandal trends that are blowing up, some that are emerging trends from other seasons, and some that are completely new. We see the return of the square shape from two decades ago, a delicate strap look, and a fun geometric heel above others. Here are the sandal trends for summer 2019 that we are sure you are going to love!

1. Strappy & Square

Strappy and square sandals are big sandal trends for this summer that are going to blow up like wildfire. Also called flossy heels, these sandals are meant to be a nod to the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Light and uncomplicated, it will be easy to slip on your sandals and hit the town. If you’d like, try to choose a mid-heel or kitten heel for a truly chic look.

2. Snake & Print

Snake print and animal print seem to be rising sandal trends for the summer. Snake print is a trend that was prevalent during the fall in boots, and now it seems to be translating into summer this year. Animal prints are also popping up with tiger, zebra, and cheetah prints either alone or in combination with other prints and block colors. For a truly striking combination, you can pair your prints with a bright neon color.

3. Universal & Platform

Sandals with a universal design coupled with a platform sole are our last sandal trends on the list for this summer. Criss-cross designs with wide straps are prevalent with leather or pleather materials. They can be simple with block colors, or accessorized with studs or gems. The platforms can range in height.

4. Chunky & Sporty

Chunky and sporty sandals are also huge sandal trends happening for this summer. Usually comfortable with a padded insole for extra support, these sandals are meant for long hours of wear. Wide straps secure the foot to the sandal while a thick sole will add a fashionable flair to an otherwise simple athletic design. They come in a variety of colors, and sole colors as well, so have fun customizing your look.

5. Clear & Clean

Clear materials and a clean design are also growing sandal trends for this summer. Nudes such as beige, white, or black are usually accented with clear pvc pieces. The neutral colors do well to make the clear sections the focal point of the design and help them to really pop. Some sandals go so far as being completely clear with only hard plastic and pvc materials used.

6. Natural & Tan

Sandals with a natural or tan hue are also sandal trends for this summer. Real leather or pleather sandals with a nice warm color are preferred over lighter colors. There are boho styles with accessories such as mirrored decals and pom-poms available, as well as simpler modern designs as well.

7. Geometric & Colorful

Heels with a geometric shape are sandal trends that are waltzing from the catwalk onto the mainstream. They can come in any style or any shape, but the most important trait for the sandal to have is that it needs to be sturdy and wearable. You can choose sandals with a subtle metallic sheen, a high gloss transparency, a neutral shade, or a bright neon color. There are those with complicated straps, and those that are simple, those with open toe, and those with a closed toe. There are so many designs to choose from, so get a pair and wow everyone with your unique sandals!
