10 Reasons Why Being Skinny Won’t Make You Happy

Being skinny has become a topic that is hurting our society. To have a specific type of body based on what society thinks does happen to ruin the way we feel about ourselves in a way that we can’t even imagine. Being fit is not the problem, being TOO skinny is. Here are 10 reasons why being skinny won’t make you happy.

1. If you think skinny means healthy… think again.

We are taught at a very young age that to be skinny means that you are “healthy”. In a way, it may be true in the sense that being obese is a health risk, but to be skinny also has it’s risks. Not gaining enough nutrition can have its issues. What it comes down to is that you need to eat to live in a functional manner. If you don’t take the time to have meals that fuel your body and your mind you can expect that your days will be filled with exhaustion. You will not have the energy to do the things you want to. Leading you to feel depressed and isolated.

2. Who are you trying to be skinny for?

Think about why you want to lose weight. Is it because YOU  want to, or is it because you think that being skinny will get you that guy you want? Or that job? Or those friends? Whatever it may be, think hard and long about why you want to be skinny. Sometimes it’s the way someone else made you feel about yourself that makes you want to rethink who you are.

If you feel that you need to be skinny to have what you don’t have, then you need to re-evaluate your values. Friends should accept and love you for you, getting a job should be based on your skills, and the guy you like will be the one if accepts all of you for just being you. Don’t look at what society expects you to be, but who you want to be.
