The number of times I’ve been asked why I’m so excited to attend the University of Kentucky exceeds the number of wins the boys basketball team has. In two months from now I’m going to be moving into what I deem the best school in the country and I couldn’t be any more excited about it. Keep reading to find out why I’m so excited to finally call myself a part of the Big Blue Nation.
When talking about nice college dorms the University of Kentucky is at the top of the list. Between the 4-person suites and the 4 bedroom suites, UK certainly knows how to accommodate for every possible need their Wildcats might have.
I’ve have had the opportunity to talk to a lot of people that are going to UK in the fall and they’re making me 10x more excited to start. New friends and new faces are the exact reasons I’m going so far away from home and the people. Come August, I cannot wait to be surrounded by a completely new group of people.
I’ve been a fan of Kentucky basketball for as long as I can remember, so sitting here waiting for the nights in Rupp Arena to return is just heightening my excitement. I can’t wait to get to be a part of the Big Blue Nation during the SEC Championship, and even better, during March Madness. The culture that surrounds Kentucky basketball is unlike any other and getting to finally experience it for real is a life goal I’m ready to accomplish (even Drake would agree on this one).
My grandpa grew up 15 minutes away from campus and the stories I’ve been told about his love for the culture and life in Lex is what originally inspired me to tour UK. I’m excited to learn about the horses (even though I never thought I’d say that) and impress my dad with my knowledge of bourbon. I can’t wait to experience Lexington and all of its glory.
Leaving my family is the saddest yet most exciting part of attending school in Kentucky. I get to finally experience the independence I’ve been wanting and I could not be more excited for this opportunity.
