10 Mouth Watering Mango Recipes To Meet Your Tropical Needs

How wonderful are mango recipes? The sweet tropical taste of mango is like no other, and no matter how you prepare it, it always tastes delicious. If you get so excited you pee a little when you see a mango anything on a menu, check out these mango recipes so you do not have to wait to fulfill your tropical mango needs.

1. Mango Kulfi

Kulfi is traditional Indian ice cream, so you could consider this a mango ice cream recipe. By combining pureed mango, milk, corn flour, and sweetened condensed milk, you can have this delicious usually cone-shaped dessert ready and waiting for you. You can actually get kulfi moulds to pour the mango kulfi into before freezing, but since these moulds resemble popsicles, you can also use popsicle moulds for this wonderful treat. 

To prepare, mix the condensed milk and milk in a pan and simmer for several minutes, stirring occasionally. Then dissolve corn flour in two tablespoons of milk and add this paste to the pan of milk. Cook until thick, remove from stove, and cool. Once cooled, add pureed mango, mix thoroughly, and pour into moulds. Freeze for several hours, then remove from moulds and dig in!

2. Mango Royale

Cold mango recipes are great for keeping cool during those warm summer days. This one is a cake-like dessert that requires no baking. With only graham crackers, mangos, heavy cream, and sweetened condensed milk, you can create a scrumptious dessert that will serve a lot of people. Whether you have a lot of people around or not, you can totally still make this mango royale and eat a piece by the pool.

For this recipe, line a baking pan with parchment paper, then line the paper with whole graham crackers. Next, whip whipping cream until soft peaks form, then slowly add condensed milk and whip until firm peaks form. Evenly spread a third of the cream over the graham cracker layer, then layer on that diced mango. Cover the mango layer with whole graham crackers and repeat the layering two more times. Cover and freeze for several hours until the cake has the texture of ice cream.

3. Mango Salmon

Oh my, now we are talking. Mango main dishes are a mango lover’s dream, and pairing mango with fish is a tropical heaven. Salmon steaks are grilled and topped with a sort of mango salsa made with red onion, garlic, tomatoes, fresh coriander, and mangos in this fabulous mango recipe. Can it get any better?

To make this recipe, begin by grilling the salmon steaks until they flake apart with a fork. While these are cooking, saute the diced onion in olive oil until the onion is tender, then stir in minced garlic, diced tomatoes, and diced coriander. Cook until heated, then remove from heat and add diced mangos. After salmon is cooked, add as much mango mixture as you wish to the top.

4. Mango Muffins

Mango muffins for breakfast, anyone? I’ll take two! This mango recipe has a bunch of ingredients, but they only compliment the mango goodness. The traditional muffin ingredients are flavored with orange extract, sliced almonds, and, of course, mango. The result is a nutritious mango masterpiece great for eating on the go.

For this recipe, combine flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a bowl, then combine buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, orange extract, and oil in a separate bowl. Add the wet ingredient mixture to the dry ingredient mixture and mix until just combined, then fold in diced mango. Fill muffin cups almost to the top, then top muffin mixture with almonds and sugar. Bake until cooked through, then let cool.

5. Mango Lemon Bars

If you have never tasted the beautiful pairing of mango and lemon, just imagine the sweetness of mango and the tartness of lemon together. Now wipe that drool off of your face and make today the day you find out the true bliss of this flavor combo. Mango puree and lemon juice flavor the sugar, flour, eggs, and vanilla filling of these bars. Plus, there is a crust made of flour, salt, sugar, and butter. Simply amazing.

To make, combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl, then add butter and mix until mixture resembles bread crumbs. Press this mixture into a greased parchment paper-lined baking pan and bake until edged turn golden brown. While this is baking, whisk sugar and flour together in a bowl, then add eggs, mango puree, and lemon juice. Once crust is done, pour filling mixture onto it, then bake until filling sets. Can you imagine how good these are?! If you like sweet barbeque wings, you will like mango wings. And if you like hot wings, just add some hot sauce to the mix. Chicken wings are seasoned with turmeric, salt, pepper, mango chutney, lemon juice, and yellow mustard. The wings are bathed in this mango sauce during and after cooking, ensuring they are coated in flavor. And if you do not like wings, try it on chicken breast strips. 

For this recipe, toss a dozen raw chicken wings in turmeric, salt, and pepper, then spread on an oiled baking sheet and bake until golden. Meanwhile, combine mango chutney, lemon juice, yellow mustard, and a dash of salt in a bowl, then toss cooked chicken in half of this sauce. Bake for another few minutes, then serve with remaining sauce.

7. Mango Shrimp

This saucy mango recipe is a perfect light dinner dish served on a bed of rice. The shrimp is first breaded in egg, corn starch, salt, sesame oil, and pepper, then fried in peanut oil. Then it is flavored with ginger, garlic, sherry, and mango, which forms a wonderful thick sauce. Can you resist it?

To make, begin by combining egg white, corn starch, salt, sesame oil, and pepper in a bowl, then thoroughly coat raw peeled deveined shrimp with this mixture. Refrigerate shrimp for several minutes, then heat a little peanut oil in a wok and fry the shrimp stirring vigorously until shrimp turn white. Remove shrimp, wipe out wok, then saute ginger and garlic in new oil in wok. Add shrimp, sherry, and salt, and stir fry for a minute. Add mango cubes and stir fry for another minute, then add sesame oil and serve over rice.

8. Chicken and Mango Pasta

What can’t you add mango to? This mango recipe has a lot going on, including a creamy pasta sauce that has all sorts of goodies in it. The sauce is a combination of onion, green pepper, garlic, ginger, mango, and thickening cream. It may sound a little odd, but that is just because you have never tasted it before. Trust me; it will become the only pasta you want.

To prepare, cook rigatoni pasta like normal but remove from heat just before done, then drain and set aside. Fry chicken in olive oil until cooked through, then set aside. Next, saute the onion and green pepper in oil, then add garlic, ginger, and mango and cook until mango is soft. Add cream and cook until sauce thickens. Add the chicken and pasta, stir, and cook until pasta is completely cooked. Mix in Parmesan cheese and serve.

If you were wondering where the heck the mango salad recipe was, here it is! There is a lot of marinating that happens in this recipe, ensuring the flavors are totally in sync. The salad is seasoned with coriander leaves, apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, and honey, which may sound like a weird combo, but don’t knock it ’til you try it.

For this recipe, chop the cucumber, mango, onion, and coriander leaves into small pieces. Then, toss the onions in apple cider vinegar and let marinate for ten minutes. After this, combine with cucumber, mango, and coriander leaves and toss well. Add cayenne pepper, salt, and honey, and thoroughly mix, then refrigerate for several minutes.

10. Pork Chops with Mango Sauce

You may have had pork chops in apricot sauce, so you know that pork chops in mango sauce has to be a hit. The secret to this mango recipe is that the apricot preserves are still there! The sauce that flavors these chops is a combination of fresh mango, chicken broth, apricot preserves, coriander, and lemon pepper. Resist them if you can.

To make, blend together fresh mango and chicken broth until smooth, then add to a saucepan with apricot preserves and coriander and boil for a couple minutes. Then simmer for several minutes more. Meanwhile, sprinkle pork chops with lemon pepper and broil until cooked. Cool meat to edible temperature and top with mango sauce.
