Through the years, there have been a number of crazy and memorable moments on the Bachelor and its franchise. Once fans and producers think they have seen everything, something even crazier happens. From animal appearances to awkward sex, here are a few moments in bachelor history that stand out.

1. Jesse Palmer said the wrong girl’s name

No worries, Oscars announcers. You are not the only ones who have said the wrong thing. Football player Jesse Palmer accidentally gave a rose to Katie Gehart when he wanted to give it to Karen Lindsay. Luckily, Katie was given the chance to stay and she accepted the invitation to continue.

2. Rozlyn Papa had an affair with the producer

During Jake Pavelka’s season, Rozlyn Papa was sent home for having an affair with the show’s producer. Chris Harrison confronted her about the situation and had her leave the show. 3. Brad Womack chose no one

This season 11 episode made Bachelor and Bachelorette history. When given the choice between DeAnna Papas and Jenni Crofts, Brad Womack decided to choose neither and walk away with no one, leaving both women brokenhearted. This is the first and only time this has happened on the Bachelor or the Bachelorette. This is still one of the most shocking moments in bachelor history.

4. A wedding-themed photo shoot on the first date

Sure, thinking ahead is usually a great idea, but this was a bit ridiculous. On the first group date of season 14, Nick took the girls on a wedding-themed photo shoot to weed out those who do not have bridal portrait potential.

5. Chris Soules attempted to freestyle rap

Do not quit your day job, Chris. This Arlington, Iowa native and farmer attempted to freestyle rap on his season of The Bachelor. Luckily for the world of rappers and fans of rap, these skills (or lack thereof) never left the show’s studio.

It’s a boat, it’s a shark, it’s a… swimming pig? During season 20’s group date to a beach in the Bahamas, the group date was interrupted by a group of pigs who decided to join the crew for a refreshing swim in the ocean.

7. Ben loved both finalists

Brad chose no one, but Ben helped make up for this by proclaiming his love for both finalists. With this, he broke one of the show’s most important rules. He ended up choosing and becoming engaged to Lauren, but the couple ended up breaking up and JoJo was on the next season of the Bachelorette.
