Luxury Thrift Stores You Need To Check Out

Forget shopping full price for luxury goods! What if we told you there was a place to get all your favorite designer things for a fraction of the price? Here are luxury thrift stores you need to check out when your in the mood for something expensive.

1. 2nd street

2nd Street is a one of a kind luxury thrift store where you can find designer jewelry, bags, shoes, and clothing. With 5 different locations, 2nd Street yearns to open more shops around California. These stores take luxury thrifting to the next level as they have tons of designer street wear looks from vintage Dolce & Gabbana to recent Fendi merchandise. At 2nd Street they offer huge selections of unique pieces from clothes to accessories. In the US, over 15 million tons of clothing ends up in landfills, but with the help of 2nd Street they are able to continuously drive the sales of gently used or preloved items to reduce waste around the world. With this in mind it’s important we also do our part in reducing the number of garments reaching the landfill by purchasing as much second hand merchandise as we can.

Some of the locations you can visit are Sherman Oaks, Melrose Ave, Pasadena, Santa Monica, and Torrance. All stores receive garments from the same location so no matter what store you go to you’ll see similar things. 2nd Street also gives people the option of donating or selling clothes to the shop with a great giving price depending on the garment or item. The prices at these thrift stores are typically expensive but the entire store does house only designer things. Don’t have transportation to get to these thrift stores? No problem, not only can you physically visit the store but they also have an online shopping center where you can shop from the comfort of your bed and either have your garment or item delivered, or pick it up. Not only is this place the best for luxury shopping but it’s almost always located near a great place to sit down and eat or drink coffee.

2. Iguana vintage clothing

This family owned business is considered an artifact, a vintage mainstay Hollywood thrift shop that’s been running for over 20 years. At Iguana Vintage Clothing you can find everything vintage, retro and timeless from the ’20s to the ’90s. This is by far the perfect place to come if you’re in need of a unique Halloween costume or an outfit for that hipster 80s party, or if you just want a classic pair of preloved Levi’s, this is the place. This quirky out of this world vintage shop is also no stranger to stars, with celebrity patrons like Bruno Mars and Carmen Electra making an appearance to do some vintage shopping.

You can find vintage luxury items such as Michael Kors bags, Louis Vuitton belts, Prada pants, and so much more. Another thing about this place is they sell more than just luxury garments and items, they have all types of clothing from low prices to high. You can find inexpensive brands like Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Lululemon and even vintage brands like Levi’s, Champion, Lee, and Wrangler. The options are limitless with this location, as it’s huge and full of different things. The last thing this place has to offer is a lovely book selection on the second level of the store with books from all the years and all types of genres.

3. Noblesse

Noblesse is a luxury boutique shop that sells used and preloved designer handbags, belts, watches and plenty other accessories. Noblesse is definitely considered a hidden gem as it’s located in the New Seoul Hotel on Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. The owner of this establishment is Monica K. who has lived in South Korea, Brazil, and currently the US. Her experience in different environments and living abroad inspired her to develop an appreciation for a wide variety of handbags and accessories. With that interest she now brings the appreciation for luxury goods to her boutique shop for customers to enjoy for a seamingly fair and reasonable price. Whether you’re buying or selling, Noblesse offers for both buyers and sellers authentic luxury items that go through a series of experts to guarantee authenticity.

Some of the goods you can find at Noblesse include but aren’t limited to; Hermes handbags, Chanel purses, Coach bags, Prada headbands, Dior belts, Bottega Veneta necklaces, Kate Spade earrings and anything else you could wear as an accessory. This is the perfect place to come if you’re headed to an important event and need something to make your outfit stand out. The best part about Noblesse is you can walk in at any time, or you can schedule a private viewing session to get the true feel of luxury shopping unlike normal thrift stores. When you enter you’ll be greeted at the door and have plenty of space to do either window shopping or actual shopping. Reviews on Yelp say a lot of people go in just to look around, but the prices are so good they almost always end up leaving with something.

Since opening its doors in 2013, Recess quickly became recognized for its curated, unique assortment of vintage and contemporary clothing and accessories. Located in Los Angeles, California, with a lifestyle expansion in 2021, the store now contains a collection of clothing, accessories, and home decor from the 20’s to present, including unique haute couture, non-designer, and global finds. The owner Marie Monsod started vintage shopping as a young teen and developed her personal style early, hunting at flea markets, thrift stores, and estate sales. One day, Monsod discovered a luxurious beaded blouse on one of her shopping expeditions. It was at that moment she realized vintage fashion was her calling. She was then inspired to open a vintage showroom of her own back in 2010, under the name Marie Monsod.

Between private appointments, trunk shows, and styling requests, Monsod decided to bring her brand to the general public and opened Recess in 2013. Doing well, Monsod also launched Recess Home in 2021. Monsod felt the rising demand for unique, reasonably priced vintage designer items, and sources to fill the gap between couture gowns and rock t-shirts. Recess is the perfect place to shop for important events or even red carpet looks, this store aims to keep merchandise both inspirational and affordable. Recess is a resource for designers, stylists, customers, and fashion insiders looking to draw inspiration. Visitors to Recess come from all around Los Angeles, across the US and even around the world.
