Switching to a low carb diet is a great way to shed some body fat and slim down for summer! However, I know it can be difficult to give up the chips and chocolate bars. I know. They’re so delicious. But what if I told you there are tasty low carb snacks you didn’t even know about! Prepare to be amazed. Here are 8 low carbs snacks you didn’t even realize were low carb.

1. Cheese Chips

That’s right. You read that correctly. You can make your very own low carb cheesy chips at home and they’re absolutely divine. Here is a delicious recipe to make one of my favourite low carb snacks. They’re super easy to make and perfect for grabbing on the go. Thank god cheese is low carb friendly!

2. Bacon “Chips”

Yep, bacon is another snack that’s low carb friendly. Does a low carb diet seem less daunting now? I thought so. Although bacon chips are not the healthiest snacking option out there, they are still low carb. These bacon chips will surely satisfy all your naughty high carb cravings. Make them extra crispy for extra tastiness. Yummy!

3. Low Carb Cookies

Who said you had to give up your sweet treats on a low carb diet? These low carb cookies are incredible and taste exactly like the real deal. For even healthier choc chip low carb cookies, try and get your hands on some sugar-free chocolate chips!

4. Low Carb Brownies

Who knew fudgy, chocolatey brownies could be low carb? Well they can if they’re homemade and made with avocado! Yes, avocado. I know it’s strange and sounds gross but avocado is the secret ingredient to making your brownies extra moist, low carb and oh-so-delicious! Bake a batch of low carb and keto friendly brownies using this recipe and you won’t be disappointed.

5. Coconut

Coconut is a perfect high fat, low carb snack that you need to try! There are many low carb/keto recipes that include coconut, but my personal favourite are these keto coconut bars. What’s even better is they’re no-bake which means less prep time! Yay!

6. Almonds

Almonds are a perfect low carb snacking choice, and they’re also a good source of healthy fats, iron, vitamin E and high-quality protein. Almonds taste great by themselves or you can make another tasty low carb snack like these keto almond chocolate clusters. They will make you go nuts for more! Excuse the pun. You could also try these low carb and keto friendly candied almonds. You can make these candied almonds in either a slow cooker or the oven. If you love almonds, cinnamon and sweetness, then these candied almonds are a perfect low carb snack for you.

7. Tofu

Even if you’re not vegetarian or vegan, tofu is a tasty low carb snack! It’s a good source of protein, iron and contains all nine essential amino acids. If you’re after a spicy and crispy snack, these buffalo crispy tofu bites will satisfy your craving, whilst keeping it low carb. Yes please!

8. Grapefruit

Grapefruits are a completely healthy and low carb/keto friendly snack. This citrus fruit is very high in vitamin C and carotene antioxidants. They’re absolutely delicious and can be enjoyed as they are, just cut one up and dig in. For an alternative snack idea, you can chuck a grapefruit into your fruit smoothie/juice for a healthy dose of vitamin C. If you’re after a completely guilt-free, sweet, low carb snack, definitely snack on a grapefruit.
