How To Add Pops Of Color To Your Eyeshadow This Summer

With summer quickly approaching, now is the time to whip out the color. However, when it comes to eye makeup, that thought is rather daunting. Here is how you can add pops of color to your eye shadow looks!

1. Inner Corner

This is a trend that has made its way through the beauty world in the past few weeks. Stars like Kylie Jenner and James Charles have been seen sporting a colorful inner pop!

To create this look, you can do neutral eyeshadow look or even no eyeshadow on the lids at all! Pick a lighter color that you’d like to use. Some popular colors include turquoise, yellow, or light pink.  Do not use a dark shade, as this will look too harsh and close off your eyes!

Lay down the color you chose, and then pick up any highlighter or light white or cream shade of eyeshadow. Place this closest to your inner corner. Be sure to blend this shade in with the color you chose. This will make sure that your eyes are still bright and opened!

2. Colorful Eyeliner

This is a personal favorite of mine. It is super easy and quick, and really adds a unique and fun flair to any look! I promise this is sure to get you compliments.

Similar to number #1 on this list, you can do a neutral eyeshadow look, no eyeshadow at all, or even something with color! The choice is really up to you. That’s the beauty of makeup!

There are a few different ways you can go about creating this look. One of the easiest ways is to pick up a colorful shade of eyeshadow on an eyeliner brush. Pack the eyeshadow against your lash line until you have built it to the intensity that you like. You can smudge it out at the edges to get a smokey, sexy look.

The other option is to buy a colored eyeliner. They come in both pencil and liquid forms, and in practically any color that you could imagine! A great drugstore choice is the NYX Vivid Bright Liners. They have several choices and great color pay off.

3. Line Your Cut Crease

This one is for those of you who are more advanced in eyeshadow, or who love to practice harder skills!

This one requires a bit of eyeshadow work. If you don’t know how to do a cut crease, there are plenty of tutorials on Youtube that can guide you through the process!

Once you have done your cut crease, it is time to add your pop of color!

Take a liquid eyeliner, in the color of your choosing. With a steady hand, slowly trace the line of your crease. When your eyes are open, you will see this line, and it will emphasize all of that hard work that you did with your eyeshadow!

This looks gorgeous, and really adds an extra detail to your look.

Brands sell eyeshadow toppers that have a bit of sparkle but are more subdued. Or you could go for a full-on colored glitter to lay over your lids. The choice is all yours!

Either way, these toppers are a great way to give you a slight color and a little extra drama! So many brands have versions of this product, it all just depends on your personal preference.
