10 Healthy Snacks That Would Make You Ditch Fast Foods

When in between meals, caught up in traffic or bored at class snacking is inevitable but eating healthy while doing it is a whole different story. And no, we are not talking about your regular broccoli or celery snack, because to be honest, that doesn’t sound attractive at all. So be ready to start drooling with these delicious and healthy snacks you won’t want to wait to try.

1. French zucchini fries

Instead of having a bowl of potato fries or chips try this low-carb and gluten-free zucchini fries. Which are also super easy to make and need really few ingredients which include two medium zucchini, one egg, a cup of parmesan cheese and 1 tsp of garlic powder and one of Italian spice.

You’ll just need to slice the zucchini in stick shape, crack and beat the egg in a bowl and mix the spices and cheese in another bowl. Then proceed to dip the zucchini sticks into the egg and then roll it onto the spices mix and transfer them to a baking tray to bake them for around 25/30 minutes. Add your favorite sauce or eat them alone!

2. Frozen blueberry yogurt bites

These frozen blueberries are a perfect fit if you are a lover of sweet snacks! But they are also really healthy way better than having a bowl of candies.  You’ll need a nonfat Greek yogurt vanilla flavored, a container of blueberries with approximately a hundred blueberries but you can add more and a tablespoon of your favorite sweetener.

Instructs are as easy as they can be just much the sugar and yogurt together then coat the blueberries into it, place them on a baking sheet and freeze them for around two hours or until they are completely frozen. Keep them in the freezer until you serve them, but they won’t last much there!

3. Roasted chickpeas

Roasted chickpeas are an awesome snack to take with you to the office or school. They are also super delicious, gluten-free and completely vegan! You’ll be needing two cans of cooked chickpeas, a teaspoon of garlic powder, two tablespoons of olive oil, ½ a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of smoked paprika powder to get these delicious treats.

To make them just dry the canned chickpeas, toss them with the olive oil and bake them for about 25 minutes in the oven. While they bake mix all the spices and when they are ready, add the spices to them. Return to the oven for an extra 10 minutes until they are super crunchy.

4. Carrot chips

We all know that carrot improves sight and it’s super healthy, now imagine those benefits in chips form? The result is unbelievable. For making these you will be needing 2 pounds of carrots, ¼ cup of olive oil, a tablespoon of sea salt, a teaspoon of ground cumin and one teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

To start with these snacks cut thin slices of carrots, place them in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients, toss them well until they are all covered. Bake the carrots for approximately 15 minutes until the edges curl up and turn crisp. When they are cool, start munching on them!

5. Dried Strawberries

Strawberries are always a good choice, but these particular ones are perfect to pack and make a to-go snack without worrying they’ll go bad. For this recipe, you’ll need around half a kilogram of strawberries already washed and dried.

Proceed to cut the strawberries into thin slices and place them on a baking sheet. Put them in the oven for about two hours and then flip them over before putting them back for around thirty more minutes. Cool the strawberries down and store them, sprinkle some sugar for extra sweetness or dip them in any desired sauce.

6. Cauliflower fritters

These cauliflower fritters are an amazing snack to match with a dip to be the chef sensation at any party. It’s also kid-friendly which makes it more versatile! For this, you’ll be needing five chopped cauliflower florets, two eggs, ½ cup of all-purpose flour, salt and pepper to taste.

First, place the cauliflower florets into a food processor until they are finely minced. Then mix them with the rest of the ingredients until they become a paste-like mixture. Form small balls of this mixture and fry them on medium heat. Eat them while still hot with your favorite dip!

This one might not sound like the healthiest one, but you still get fruit, protein and sweetness all in one to make a gluten-free and delicious snack! For this, you’ll need as many apples as you want, cut in thin slices, ¼ cup of peanut butter and a ¼ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.

And instructions are as easy as place the sliced apples in a bowl, drizzle with the peanut butter and sprinkle the chocolate chips. Proceed to enjoy this delicious snack you can be sure everyone is going to be asking you to share!

8. Almond butter granola

Almond butter granola is a delicious recipe perfect for morning snacks. Easy to make and really healthy is a must you have to try. For this, you’ll be needing three cups of old fashioned oats, ¼ teaspoon of salt, two big spoons of chia seeds, one teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/3 cup of honey, ¼ cup of melted coconut oil, ½ cup of almond butter and one teaspoon of vanilla.

First, you’ll need to mix the oats, salt, chia seeds and cinnamon in one bowl, in another bowl mix the almond butter, coconut oil and vanilla. Mix these two bowls into one and press onto a parchment paper into a flat layer, bake for around 25 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy when cold!

When you bite into this coconut bars you’ll be feeling at the sunniest beach, even if you are just at the office. These snacks are super simple and have a delicious sweetness to it. You just need three cups of shredded unsweetened coconut flakes, one cup of melted coconut oil and ¼ a cup of maple syrup or sweetener of choice.

Mix the three ingredients into a bowl until a thick batter form. Pour the coconut mixture into a lined pan and refrigerate until firm. Easy as it can be!

10. Turkey ham wrap

This turkey ham wrap can work as a quick snack if you cut it into small pieces or a super healthy dinner or lunch. For this, you’ll just need a whole wheat tortilla, a lettuce leaf, a piece or more of turkey ham and your favorite dressing.

Just spread your favorite dressing on the tortilla, put the lettuce leaf on top and then the ham, roll and cut into small pieces to share if you want. But honestly, it’s so good you won’t really want to share it!
