Gorgeous Ways To Style Your Hair With A Beanie

Summer will be over soon, and we’ll definitely miss it, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t super excited to try these chic ways to style our hair once Fall arrives. Once the weather starts to get more chilly, you will definitely see us sporting these gorgeous styles with the cutest beanies we can find. Keep scrolling for some Fall hair inspo!

1. Tousled Waves With A Fishtail Braid

For a casual, laid-back look that’ll make you look effortlessly put together, take a curling wand with a 1 inch barrel (try a 1/2 inch barrel if your hair is on the thinner side), and wrap sections of your hair loosely around it to make some light waves. Since you aren’t trying to achieve perfectly polished curls, you won’t have to keep your hair on the curling for longer than a few seconds. You want the waves to look tousled but still have some definition. Once you’ve finished creating the waves, take a section of hair at the crown of your head and fishtail braid it. Tie the braid off with a clear elastic before topping the hairstyle off with your favorite beanie.

2. Voluminous Double Braids

These voluminous double braids are the perfect style to recreate when you have to be out the door in 5 minutes or less. To make the braids appear extra thick, you can apply extensions to your hair beforehand or tease your hair. Start by parting your hair down the middle to create two sections. Braid both regularly and secure them with an elastic. Once they are secure, gently pull and tug sections of each braid; this will make them look more voluminous and a bit messy (in a stylish way, of course). At this point, you can put your beanie on to complete the style or add a little more flair by curling the ends of the braid.

3. Low Braided Buns

If you have shorter or medium length hair, these adorable low braided buns will pair beautifully with a beanie once fall comes. Begin recreating this style by parting your hair down the middle, creating two sections, then securing each section into a low ponytail. Before you begin the next step, this would be a good point to add some extensions in so the braids look thicker when they form the buns. Next, braid each section into a regular three strand braid or whichever braid style you prefer. After each section is braided and secured, wrap them into low buns then secure them with elastics and bobby pins if necessary. Throw on your beanie, and prepare yourself for complements as soon as you step out!

4. Voluminous Fishtail Braid

This voluminous fishtail braid is definitely one of the most eye catching ways to style your hair. To recreate this style, begin by gathering all of your hair and parting it to form two sections. Then, create a normal fishtail braid until you run out of hair to braid, and tie it off with an elastic. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest if you need help or tips on figuring out how to create this style of braid. After you’ve finished, gently pull at the pieces of the braid to give it more volume. Style tip: this hairstyle looks best when its loose and a little undone so don’t worry about pulling the braid tight or trying to make it perfect.

5. Loose Curls/Waves

The last style on our list is a no fuss look that is super simple to achieve. For the low-maintenance loving gals, all you need is a curling wand or a flat iron to attain this polished hairstyle. Start by separating your hair into sections so that they’ll be easy to curl. Since the top half of your hair will be covered by your beanie, you will only have to curl about half the length of your hair. Depending on how defined you want your curls to look, the length of time you will need to keep your hair wrapped around the barrel will vary. For a looser, wavier style, hold your hair for at least 5 seconds around your curling wand. More defined curls or ringlets can be achieved by holding your hair around the barrel for about 10 seconds. Go through and curl each section until all of your hair is completely curled. Throw on a cozy knit sweater to match your beanie, and you’ll be ready to take on the day!
