1. Be smarter with money

Whether this means opening a savings account, starting an RRSP, or adding more to your savings each month, let’s spend our money wisely. Is it really necessary to eat out more than once a week? Investing in our future means being able to afford one. It’s time to make a change.

2. Feed the mind

We need to take care of our mind as much as our bodies. Taking a course to learn a new language or attending a motivational seminar can be very impactful. Set a goal to learn something new, read an informative book, or simply spend more time improving your mental state.

3. Listen to podcasts

There isn’t much more relaxing than curling up and putting on your next episode of whatever you’re binging, I get it. The latest entertainment comes in podcasts, and has many benefits. The topics range from self-help, mental health, and comedy, each providing your ears with hours of entertainment. Download the app, pick podcasts that will help you reach your goals, and get to work.

4. Meal prep

Nothing says adulting like cooking your meals and preparing for the day ahead. Meal prepping is a great way to eat healthier, save time, and eliminate the cost of eating out. With all of your meals prepped, what will you do with your spare time?

5. Take steps to better your career or get into the right one

Finding your dream job is on everyone’s bucket list. If you aren’t there yet, take a step back and think of what you can change to make sure you get closer this year. If you are in the right field, how can you make this the year to shine? Make a list of what you need to accomplish to get recognized, promoted or create an opportunity to have a bigger role in the next project.

6. Volunteer monthly

Giving back is a great way to get in touch with who you are. There isn’t much more boss-like than having your shit together well enough that you can help others with your spare time. Teach what you know, donate your time, or start something to benefit your community. It will get you recognized for the kickass person you are, and feel amazing.

7. Pay off a debt

We all have debts. Between student loans, credit card bills or car payments, there is always something we can do to improve our debt. Start reducing unnecessary spending to work towards eliminating a debt. This will reduce stress and help you get ahead.

Cut to the chase, tell him how you feel, or finally admit to who you are. Once you start living with no bullshit, you will feel more like yourself than you ever have.

9. Step out of your comfort zone

Once a week do something that scares you. A large part of growing is experiencing new things and learning what you like. Creating new opportunities will help define who you are as a person, rather than sheltering your potential. Who knows, maybe you’re an adventurist after all.

10. Do one thing you’ve always wanted to

There is always one thing you have dreamed of doing. This is the year to set it in motion. Travel, start that small business, join the gym, or simply create a plan to make whatever it is achievable. 2019 is the start of another great year, why not make it the year of action?
