5 Fun Ways To Work Out You Have To Try

Working out does not have to be boring! Check out our tips to make going to the gym a little bit easier.

1. Make a hype playlist

Instead of hitting shuffle on any old playlist, make one full of songs that make you want to get up and move! Having a playlist full of action songs will help you stay motivated throughout your workout, and will get you to push yourself harder. If you do not want to make a playlist from scratch Spotify has a whole genre dedicated to making sure people find their perfect workout playlist. Either way, make sure you turn the volume up and get in the zone during your next work out. So the next time you hit the gym do not forget your earbuds!

2. Play sports

If you dread the idea of running on a treadmill for an hour or lifting weights in front of a mirror, go outside and play a sport instead. Whether it be pickup basketball or kicking around a soccer ball, playing a sport will give you a change of scenery outside the gym walls. Playing team sports will also introduce you to new people who share the same interests and goals as you. Even if you think sports are not for you, try it out! You can also take dance lessons, do yoga, or try Zumba as an alternative.

3. Bring a buddy

We are not afraid to say it: going to the gym can be boring sometimes. Bring a buddy for motivation! This will make going to the gym a lot more enjoyable, especially if you have someone sharing your pain. Hold each other accountable and encourage one another. You will be more likely to stick to your workout regimen if you have someone there to push you. Bringing a friend will also make going to the gym a lot less intimidating because you know there will be someone there who has your back. Make working out fun!

4. Make it a competition

Motivate yourself to go to the gym by making it a competition. Whether it be with your friends or with yourself, try to outdo yourself each time you go. However, it is important to remember not to overdo it. Even the little accomplishments go a long way. Work out in order to feel healthier, not to fit any unrealistic standards of beauty. Push yourself to work harder, but only to the point where you are comfortable. You can track your progress through workout apps or write them down in your notes on your phone! Either way, tracking your workouts are a good way of keeping yourself accountable and seeing just how far you have come.

5. Set goals

Keep yourself accountable by setting goals. These can be as simple as getting to the gym at least 3 times a week or running on a treadmill for 7 minutes straight. It is also important that you do not set unrealistic goals for yourself. If you have not been to the gym in a while, take it easy on yourself at first, and then build to harder, more intense workouts. Getting to the gym is hard enough as it is, so do not make it harder for yourself when you get there. Figure out what you want to accomplish. Do you want to tone your legs? Do you want to build your stamina? Whatever it may be, go in with a gameplan so you do not get overwhelmed.
