15 Famous Alumni From The University Of Arizona

There are so many famous alumni from the University of Arizona. From famous actors and TV personalities, to CEOs of major companies. U of A students are in great company.

Being a die hard fan of the Kardashians and the Golden State Warriors, I realized that some of these guys and gals I fan girl over are alumni of my very own university, the University of Arizona. Being a student there myself I just had to look into these 15 famous alumni from the University of Arizona, that were once in my shoes. Bear Down!

1. Kourtney Kardashian

Known for being on the popular show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, this famous alum actually graduated with a major in theater arts and a minor in Spanish. She actually failed a class because she refused to give presentations.

2. Andre Iguodala

Player for the Golden State Warriors and NBA Finals MVP. He completed two years before declaring for the 2004 NBA draft.

 3. Kristen Wiig

Known for SNL, Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters, this comedian, actress, writer and producer dropped out of U of A to pursue her acting dream. During her time at U of A she pursued a degree in Art.

 

4. Nicole Richie

Nicole attended the University of Arizona alongside Kourtney Kardashian where she studied arts and media. Unfortunately she only attended for two years before dropping out and returning to California.

5. Joan Ganz Cooney

Joan is an American television producer. She is one of the founders of Sesame Street. She earned her B.A in education at the University of Arizona.

 

6. Savannah Guthrie

Savannah is known for co hosting the Today Show. She received her degree in journalism and was part of the Arizona Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi.

7. Jimmy Tatro

Jimmy dropped out of U of A his junior year but during his years there was a member of the fraternity Pi Kappa Phi. You can find this YouTube sensation on his channel “LifeAccordingtoJimmy.” You can also catch him in Grown Ups 2 and 22 Jump Street.

8. Steve Kerr

Former pro basketball player and head coach of the Golden State Warriors. Recruited right out of high school Kerr played for U of A from 1983-1988.

9. Jerry Bruckheimer

Film and television producer, he’s best known for CSI, Top Gun and Pirates of the Caribbean. He graduated with a degree in Psychology from U of A and was in the fraternity Zeta Beta Tau.

10. Terry J. Lundgren

The CEO, president and chairman of Macy’s. This famous alum graduated from U of A with his bachelor’s.

11. John Hughes

American film director, producer, and screenwriter. Best known for Home Alone, The Breakfast Club, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Player for the New England Patriots. He played football for the University of Arizona from 2007-2009.

13. Bob Baffert

Trainer of American Pharaoh. Baffert graduated from the University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Actor that is known for being in Little Miss Sunshine, Modern Family and The Last Song. He graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. He was a member of the fraternity Alpha Tau Omega.

15. Luke Walton

Former pro basketball player and the current head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. He graduated from U of A in 2003 after completing a degree in family studies and human development.
