1. Hydrate and Nourish
Sometimes our skin gets dry. To help hydrate and nourish your skin back to health, use this recipe! What you’ll need is half of an avocado, one tablespoon full of honey, and about a handful of oats. While this might seem like a strange combination, trust me! When I first saw this recipe for a face mask I was worried too, but pleasantly surprised. The honey helps skin retain moisture without it getting oily. It also helps heal scars! Avocado will make your skin super smooth, taking away any roughness that you might have. What I also learned is that you can substitute avocado with 3 tablespoons of milk for the same effect! The oats will work similarly to the honey, healing and moisturizing your skin. It will help your skin by calming and soothing it as well!
Everybody wants to glow. Glowing is proof of wonderful skin. If your skin is glowing, everyone around you will be jealous. What you’ll need for this glow-inducing face mask is one tablespoon of cocoa powder, one-fourth of papaya, an about one squeeze of Aloe Vera gel. Aloe Vera in itself is super beneficial (and could be put all over the face by itself and have many benefits). There are so many vitamins in Aloe Vera: vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B6, and B12. These vitamins help to soothe, hydrate and radiate the skin. The papaya will dissolve dead skin cells. Finally, the cocoa powder boosts circulation of the skin; very important.
3. Get Rid of Acne
Acne is the worst. Some people are blessed with amazing skin and almost never break out. Most of us have not been so lucky. We get red spots and whiteheads and don’t know how to get rid of them. Thankfully, I found this for one of the recipes for face masks that you can make at home. What you’ll need is one tablespoon of manuka honey, one teaspoon of turmeric powder, and half a teaspoon of dead sea salt. The honey helps to kill bacteria. The turmeric brings down redness. The dead sea salt helps to reduce infection and inflamation. A power trio if I’ve ever seen one. This is one of the most effective face masks you can make at home.
4. Shrink Pores
You should never, ever mess with your pores. The more you mess with them, the more likely they are to get larger. That is the LAST thing that we want. Instead, we will work on shrinking them. What you’ll need is one egg white, one tablespoon of honey, and a little bit of lemon juice. Egg white and lemon juice each on their own work to tighten your skin, so imagine when they work together! The honey will help to keep your skin moisturized!
5. Help Oily Skin
For this face mask, we will only need two ingredients: half of an avocado and a fourth of a blended cucumber. The water of the cucumber will help keep the skin hydrated, as dehydrated skin produces more oil to make up for the lost water, and it will give the skin vitamin C, which keeps skin from breaking out! The avocado will also work to help regulate the amount of oil that is produced!
