Everything You’ll Need For An At Home Pedicure

Getting a pedicure is so relaxing and it’s the perfect way to show yourself some extra love! It’s important that we take care of our feet because if you think about it, they take us where we’re going all the time.

But pedicures can be expensive and sometimes it’s hard to carve out that special time for ourselves throughout the busyness of everyday life.

That’s when doing a pedicure at home can save the day! You’ll save money and if you do it right, you can get just the same amount of relaxation from an at-home pedicure than you do in a busy and sometimes loud nail salon.

Below is everything you’ll need for your relaxing at home pedicure as well as a few steps to follow. Enjoy and remember it’s always important to treat yourself!

Relaxing Music And Candles

The key to having a relaxing, spa-like pedicure is to set the mood with your favorite relaxing music. Maybe even burn some of your favorite smelling candles too. This will help you to relax and unwind throughout your at home pedicure!

Warm Water, Epsom Salts, And/Or Essential Oils

Next, you’re going to want to either run some warm water in the bath, or in a small container that you can soak your feet in for about 10 minutes. Just make sure that your little pedicure set up is in a relaxing place since you’ll be soaking your feet for a while!

You can also add some Epsom salts and/or essential oils into the water. Lavender is one of my favorite essential oils because it really helps you to relax!

While your feet are soaking you can grab a book to read or just lay back and relax while you listen to your favorite music.

Nail Clippers And Nail File

After soaking your feet and patting them dry with a soft towel, you’ll need to cut and file your nails.

This is a great part about doing an at home pedicure because you can clip and file your nails just how you like them without having to worry about someone cutting them too short or not short enough!

Nail Buffing Block

Now you’re going to want to use a buffing block to shine up your nails and make them super smooth. You can get these online or at any beauty store like Ulta, Sephora, or Sally’s. You can even find them (as well as most other things on this list) at Target!

Cuticle Oil

Now you’re going to want to take care of your cuticles by dropping a little cuticle oil onto your nails and massaging it in. Then you’ll push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher which you can get in any pedicure kit! Finally you can trim off the cuticles with a cuticle trimmer.

Exfoliating Gloves And Callus Remover File

Now you’re going to focus more on the skin of your feet and calves. Grab some exfoliating gloves at Target or on Amazon, and then gently massage your legs and feet. Trust me, exfoliating gloves will work magic on your skin!

Then you can gently work on your calluses with a callus remover so you’re feet will be left soft and smooth!

Your Favorite Lotion And Damp Warm Towels

Next is moisturizing! After you’ve exfoliated your skin, you can rinse off your feet again and then pat them dry with a soft towel.

Then grab your favorite body lotion and massage it into your feet and legs just how you’d like! Take your time and your body will really thank you.

I like to use coconut lotion like the whipped lotion shown in the photo below because it smells absolutely wonderful and it’s amazing for your skin!

After moisturizing, have some damp heated towels ready to wrap around your feet and calves while you sit back and relax for about another 5 minutes. Or really however long you want, this is your pedicure!

Spray Bottle With Water In It

Now you can remove the warm towels from your legs and you’re all done – that is, if you don’t want to paint your nails!

If you do, then grab an old spray bottle from around the house, clean it, and fill it with clean water. Then spray off your toes so they’re ready to paint.

Your Favorite Nail Polish

Finally pat your toes dry and paint them with your favorite nail polish. You can even get creative and try some fun designs! If you like sparkles, usually your local beauty store will sell fun nail jewels you can put on your toes.

Have fun and don’t forget to cover with a top coat. Let your beautiful nails dry while you continue to relax in the comfort of your own home!
