DIY Home Remedies For When You’re Feeling Under The Weather

You know when you wake up just feeling eh? Well, somedays you don’t feel right at 100% and that’s ok! It happens to us all.

But no need to worry because we’re here to help! Here’s a little list of DIY home remedies for when you’re feeling under the weather. Hope you feel better soon!

Soothing Honey Lemon Tea

Honey lemon tea is one of the greatest DIY home remedies when you’re feeling a bit under the weather. This home remedy is perfect for when you feel like you’re coming down with a cold or even the flu.

The honey will soothe your sore throat while the lemon fights congestion. The lemon also contains vitamin C which is important to have all the time, but especially when you’re sick! This will also help keep you hydrated as you sip this warm tea. 

All you’ll need to do is boil some water and pour it in your favorite mug. Then squeeze about half a lemon into it. Next, you can add about 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of honey depending on how sweet you might like your soothing honey lemon tea! 

Hydrating Hot Lemon Water

This DIY home remedy is similar to the honey lemon tea, but without the honey! This is great to drink in the morning because it’ll really help to detoxify your body, as well as delivering hydration and vitamin C.

It’ll also help to maintain the pH balance in your body. Just boil your water, pour it in your favorite mug, and add a squeeze of lemon juice! 

Health Boost Drink By Sarah’s Day

Next on our list of home remedies is a health boost drink by Sarah’s Day. If you drink this a few times during the day, it’ll kick your sickness away quick so you can get back to feeling great! 

The ingredients are water, camu powder, gubinge powder, turmeric, and a squeeze of lemon juice. All of these ingredients are amazing and you just have to mix them together in about half a cup of water!

Warm Towel For Sore Throat

The next home remedy is amazing for when you have a sore throat. All you’ll need is 2 longer dish towels or even a pair of long socks, and a safety pin. First you’ll get one of the socks or towels damp and heat it in the microwave until it’s quite warm (but still cool enough that you can comfortably touch it). 

Then you’ll wrap this around your neck and cover it with the dry towel or sock. Safety pin it in the back and relax while you watch your favorite show and/or sip some honey lemon tea! You could even sleep in this and you’ll wake up feeling much better.

The warmth of the towel around your neck will bring the blood flow to your sore throat and help to heal it quickly!

Breathing Eucalyptus/Tea Tree Oil For Sinuses

If you’re struggling with allergies and congested sinuses, then grab some tea tree or eucalyptus oil and a cotton ball! Put a few drops of the essential oil onto the cotton ball and then put it up to your nose so you can breath it in.

Doing this will really help to clear your sinuses. You could even put a few drops of the oil into a diffuser so you can breath it in while you relax and get some rest. 

Vitamin And Antioxidant Smoothie

It’s super important to eat healthy all the time, but especially when you’re feeling sick. Create this DIY home remedy to deliver lot’s of vitamins and antioxidants to your body to boost your health and kick your sickness away! 

All you’ll need is a few frozen bananas and strawberries, some fresh blueberries and blackberries, and spinach. Add a bit of water or coconut water and blend together until you get your smoothie to the desired texture.

The fruit will deliver lots of vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin K into your body while the spinach will deliver important nutrients to help get you back on your feet. This is one of the tastier DIY home remedies, so enjoy! 

Honey Lemon Ginger Tea

The last of these home remedies is similar to the honey lemon tea, but you add a bit of ginger to it. Ginger has many benefits and if you’re feeling a bit nauseous it’ll counteract that. It’s also anti-inflammatory! 

First you’ll want to cut about 1 inch of ginger root (for 1 serving) and boil it in water for 10 minutes. Then use that water and add your lemon juice and honey. Enjoy and feel better soon!
