Delicious Alcoholic Drinks That Will Avoid A Hangover

If you are like me, you get a hangover after every time you drink. Currently, I have been trying to find the perfect drink that will let me have fun and have a great next day. Hangovers have always left me feeling so bad that I can’t do anything that whole day. Always remember that the darker the alcohol, the worse the hangover.

Why Do You Get Hungover

You get hungover because your body can’t metabolize a certain amount of alcohol per hour. Your body can typically take 1 drink an hour. This number depends on your age, weight, and gender. When you drink more than this allotted amount, alcohol starts to build up in your bloodstream. At this point you will begin to feel, dehydrated, inflamed, and sleep disturbance.

How To Avoid Hangovers

Besides not drinking of course, the best ways to avoid hangovers are by:

  • avoiding congeners- congeners contain methanol, isopentanol and acetone. The more congeners the longer and worse the hangover. Whiskey, cognac and tequila have some of the most congeners.
  • drinking lots of water- alcohol makes you pee a lot, which may cause dehydration. You may notice symptoms like thirst, headache, fatigue or dry mouth. Every alcoholic beverage you have, follow it up with a glass of water.
  • get plenty of sleep- after a night of drinking, you will notice that your duration and quality of sleep won’t be as good as normal.
  • eat a good breakfast- Eating a good breakfast can help to maintain your blood sugar levels.
  • avoid sugary drinks- Sugar can cause dehydration. Sugar can help produce a more severe hangover than alcohol. Daiquiris and Mai Tai’s are examples of high sugar beverages.
  • take supplements
