Date Night Ideas For When You Don’t Want To Leave Home

You want to have a date night, but you really don’t feel like going out. But what is there to do if you don’t? Have no fear! Here are 15 date night ideas perfect for a date night in!

1. Have some game
Literally! Board games, card games, video games…anything goes with this date night idea! Not only are games something fun to do but a little friendly competition never hurt anyone.

2. Skip the theater
Pop some corn, pile up the pillows and blankets and get cozy! We live in the ultimate age for streaming movies which means that you will never run out of options. Try to choose movies that one or both of you have never seen before to keep it interesting. Don’t forget to hit the lights!

3. Channel your inner Bob Ross
Pick up some canvas, paints, and brushes and get your creativity on! Station yourselves across from one another and paint each other’s portraits. The outcome could give you each a smile (or a good laugh) and you’ll have an awesome keepsake to hang on your wall!

4. Sing your hearts out
Do it up karaoke style! Visit YouTube and check out their karaoke channels, like Sing King Karaoke, or look up your own favorites with lyrics. Take turns belting it out or do a duet! For even more fun, let your date choose songs for you. You’ll be livin’ on a prayer in no time!

5. Eat dinner by candle light
This is probably one of the oldest date night ideas, but it never goes out of style. Turn the lights down low and light some candles for an intimate dinner. Play some soft music to set the mood and don’t be afraid to get all decked out for one another. Romance is sure to follow!

6. Do a tasting
Gather some bottles of wine (or beer) that you have never tried before. Have a tasting of each one to find a new favorite together. Add some artisan bread and cheeses for the ultimate tasting experience!

7. Have a dance party
When was the last time you danced together? Turn on a playlist, crank up the volume, and shake your groove thing with this date night idea!

8. Complete a Chopped Challenge
Have a neighbor, friend, or family member place a variety of ingredients into a bag or basket. No peeking! Work together to create something delicious with those ingredients and other things you may have in the pantry. Set a time limit for you both to make it even more challenging!

9. Dub a show
Decide on any tv show and put it on mute. Cuddle on the couch and dub your own storyline! See how long it takes to start laughing uncontrollably.

10. Have a photo shoot
Try this date night idea and take some time to enjoy one another’s existence! Take turns posing in the front of the camera or bust out a selfie stick for couples shots. You can even make plans for wardrobe changes! Make them as funny, serious, artistic, or sensual as you both like.

11. Sculpt something
Get some modeling clay and work on a sculpture together. Take turns adding pieces and details to create a truly unique masterpiece! This is one of the artsy date night ideas.

12. Revisit your childhood
A date night idea that brings a blast from the past! Throw together some of your favorite childhood foods and take turns choosing episodes from your favorite childhood tv shows. Do some of your favorite childhood activities together, like color, play with playdoh, or build a blanket fort!

13. Question each other
Play some Q & A-type games like “Would You Rather” or “Never Have I Ever” (if you’re in the mood to drink). You may think you know everything about each other, but this is the surefire way to get to know each other even more! This is one of the simple date night ideas.

14. Create an at-home buffet
Order take-out from a few different places for a variety of foods. Set out all the containers and bring the buffet to you! Yum!

15. Couples Massage
Need I say anything more? Get some massage oils and focus on each other’s problem areas to truly help you both unwind and light the flame! This is one of the best date night ideas.
