Crash Course: How To Build Confidence

Confidence is the thing they say makes us bold, beautiful, brilliant, but what if we aren’t confident? What is confidence? If not, our own belief and trust in ourselves to become who we want to be and what we strive for. Michelle Obama once said, ” Your success will be determined by your own confidence and fortitude.” Self-confidence allows us to rise to any occasion, and having a healthy balance will enable us to change the narrative and push those negative views aside. Also, all things considered, it is a critical factor in motivation and pursuing goals in which those with confidence tend to achieve more academically going for the things they may not go for without it. Furthermore, confidence drives us. It builds character and trust within ourselves. Here is the crash course on how to build confidence, self-doubt, and uncertainty be gone!

Why Compare When You’re The Original

Often times we compare ourselves to others but little do we realize that it causes a negative view of ourselves. Have you ever compared your looks or even your success to another person? In the end, how did that make you feel? Did you think that you were lacking or otherwise not in the position you thought you would be in at a certain age? Although comparing ourselves to others is natural in a sense, overanalyzing could cause a strain with your perspective of self-worth while also reducing self-esteem and self-efficacy. It acts as a distraction and doesn’t really allow you to focus on yourself; in turn, it keeps you from your goals. So, stop comparing yourself to others because it breeds animosity, making things much worse! And honestly, there will always be someone that may just be better than you at something, more successful, or otherwise, and let’s be real, perfection is an illusion. It’s best to be ourselves and own it because being you is beautiful, and at the end of the day, that’s what counts.

Affirmations and Positive Thinking

Hi, there, you look lovely today; I am beautiful; I will succeed and be the best part of myself! Affirmations like these wrap us in a warm hug and are powerful in changing our lives and how we feel. They build confidence. Affirmations and positive thinking make us feel good, and when we feel good, we’re at our best. Taking the time to honestly look at ourselves and really look within and embrace ourselves with positivity and love helps develop a positive attitude. Even when you are at one of your most challenging moments or situations, feeding your mind with affirmation or even giving yourself a pep talk help build confidence, and although it may not seem like it, many positive statements and thoughts that reinforce better outlooks combat the terrible feeling we conjure up about ourselves, our experiences, and our positions in life.

“Self-Care, Self-Love, Selfish”

Love yourself because you deserve to be loved. Taking care of ourselves is one of the most important things we have to do as individuals, and it could be extremely hard to feel good about yourself when you are not doing so. Apart from this, you can’t have self-care without the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being that naturally makes you more confident from practicing them. Caring for yourself is number one in feeling confident, and maintaining your health is essential. Things like healthy eating, exercise, and sleep ensure that you create a balance that sustains you and helps guide you in the right direction and headspace. Take care of your bodies because when you think about fueling your body with great foods makes you feel healthy, exercise makes you feel energized, and sleep makes you feel well-rested and ready for the day and its challenges. This creates a positive image of yourself in which confidence is not far behind.

Facing Your Fears Are Fun, Right?

Although facing your fears may seem like your diving headfirst off a cliff, it could be thrilling and allow a whole world of new possibilities and outcomes for you. Putting things on the back burner until you feel more confident is risky and may have you missing out. One of the best ways to build your confidence is to dive right in. Instead of not doing something and regretting it, face the things you are most afraid of, tackle them, and embrace the moment going for it. Overall it helps you make improvements by helping you gain confidence. Going for the things you habitually avoid by way of self-doubt gives you an air of self-respect that makes you sure of yourself. Take action because overcoming that fear will only help you achieve the things you aim for. No one wants to be limited and left to repeat the cycle of what-ifs and uncertainty. Therefore, confronting the things we are scared of strengthens and develops assurance.

Negative People Incite Negative Views

Be careful with who you spend your time with, as negative beliefs and behaviors will rub off on you. Have you ever felt out of place? Do your friends motivate you or damage the views you have of yourself? It would be best to withdraw yourself from their corner if they do. Everyone wants to be accepted for who they truly are, and your friends, family, or peers should back you on this. Attitudes and thoughts are influenced by the people you spend your time with, and realizing this is vital. Surround yourself with positive thinkers who make you feel good about yourself and accept your journey because this helps your confidence grow and flourish.

Building confidence is reasonably necessary to take risks, accept our failures, and get back up again. Likewise, it is essential to be ready for all life throws at you. It’s a rush, like falling from the greatest of heights. Confidence is how we show love to ourselves, and it is wholly relevant to our overall success, whether that be in our careers or our life experiences. Finally, it moves us forward and helps us live our best and most beautiful lives. How have you built your confidence thus far? Inquiring minds want to know.
