Closet Staples For Your Fall Wardrobe

As the temperature begins to drop and spooky season slowly approaches, it’s time to start thinking about revamping our closet for the new season. Here are ten closet staples that you absolutely need for your fall wardrobe!

1. Leggings

Would a fall wardrobe even exist without at least five pairs of leggings? We highly doubt it. Leggings come in a variety of colors, designs, and fits, and they can be styled in a variety of ways. Plus, they are also a highly comfortable choice for everyday outfits! You can wear leggings for athletic events, just to lounge around in or you can even dress them up on days where you are looking to be more put together. Some examples of what you can wear with leggings include: An oversized sweatshirt, multiple layers such as a jean jacket, or a cute sweater.

2. Joggers

Another key ingredient to your fall wardrobe that is both comfortable and can be styled in a majority of ways is a pair of joggers! Joggers are the ultimate fall essential because they make you feel like you are still in your pjs but can also be styled in such a wide variety of ways. One of our favorite go-to outfits with joggers includes making our fit a matching set, that way we remain ultra comfy while still looking trendy and a little more put together. You may also want to wear a simple crop top or finish your look with a zip up!

3. Sweater

If you know you are going to find yourself wanting to look more put together on certain days, then we recommend adding a few sweaters to your fall wardrobe. Sweaters are perfect for the chillier climate and a good way to stay comfy while still looking effortlessly more fashionable. You can opt for all sorts of different styles of sweaters ranging from oversized to cropped, bulky to thin and you will make a wide variety of colors and patterns to choose from as well. Wear your sweater with a pair of leggings to keep the ensemble more casual or opt for a pair of jeans or leather pants for a more chic and sophisticated look.

4. Cardigan

As you will soon learn, a good fall wardrobe is all about having plenty of items that you can layer in a variety of ways. The first one on our list that we recommend is a cardigan; although some of you may think of a cardigan and automatically assume that we are setting you up to look like a grandma, but we assure you that is not the case. In fact, there are many different ways to style a cardigan to make them look a lot more fresh and trendy so that you don’t have to feel like you are copying your grandmother! For example, pairing your cardigan with a cute bodysuit and jeans assures that you remain stylish and warm all at once; you may even want to substitute the jeans for a pair of leggings to be more comfy.

5. Jean Jacket

Jean jackets are the first thing that comes to our minds when we think of a new fall wardrobe, not only because they add a twist of style to any outfit but also because they are the perfect layering article of clothing that will be your best friend during the months of transitioning climate. You can opt for an oversized or cropped fit depending on your preference and a jean jacket is another piece of clothing that you can choose to dress up or down for any occasion. Wear your jacket over a dress or with a pair of leather trousers for a more classy look or throw it on over your sweatshirt and leggings to remain comfy casual!

Similar to the jean jacket, a corduroy jacket is another fall wardrobe essential that is easy to style in a wide variety of ways. Plus, the corduroy material serves as a more unique take on the layering look and can be found in a range of gorgeous colors that are perfect for fall! Wearing a pair of jeans or even just leggings with your jacket will immediately create a trendy autumn fit and finishing off the look with a pair of Doc Martens or other adorable ankle boots will lock in the stylish ensemble. If you opt for a more colorful jacket, the best way to go about the look is to throw it on over a monochromatic ensemble such as all black or all white, this ensures that your jacket is the main focus point and a pop of fall color!

7. Staple Long Sleeves

An addition to your fall wardrobe that can be styled in so many different ways it’s hard to count them all out is simple long sleeve shirts. Shirts like long sleeved black or white ones are perfect for the layering season, which just so happens to begin when fall does! One of our personal favorite looks that we see a lot is a long sleeve shirt under an oversized graphic tee; this is a convenient look for the fall weather because it will keep you warm, it is super comfy and above all the look is super trendy and cute! Other ways to wear your long sleeves is under denim or corduroy jackets, or even just by itself with a pair of jeans, leggings, or sweats.
