Unlike some celebrity exes (for example: Russell Brand and Katy Perry, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, and John Mayer and Taylor Swift, to name a few), who can’t stand each other and have threw shade in public interviews or on social media about their exes post-breakup, not every former famous relationship has ended on bad terms.
Some celebrity exes who remain on good terms with each other after breaking up and/or divorcing (for those celebrity exes who were married). Whether it’s due to the children (and wanting to successfully co-parent them together despite not being together) they share, the still-existing mutual respect, and/or not wanting to lose the already established friendship, some former flames still maintain a great relationship. Notable celebrity exes who have great relationships with each other post-breakup include Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, and Sean Penn and Madonna, to name a few.
Besides the more well-known former flames listed above who are still amicable with each other listed above, here are some other pairs of Celebrity Exes Who Are Still Friends After Breaking Up:
1. Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey:
The rapper and comedian (on the right) and Grammy-winning pop singer (on the left) began dating after meeting on the set of the latter’s music video for her song “Bye Bye” which was shot on the Caribbean Island of Antigua in 2008. Just six weeks after dating, the pair got engaged and wed in the Bahamas on April 30th, 2008.
On April 30th, 2011, their third wedding anniversary, Carey gave birth to their twins Monroe (a girl) and Moroccan (a boy) Cannon. Unfortunately, the couple filed for divorce in 2014, which was finalized in 2016. Although Cannon has since had his third child overall (another boy) with Model Brittany Bell and Carey was engaged to Billionaire James Packer from January to October 2016, there is still a great amount of love between both Cannon and Carey.
2. Liv Tyler and Joaquin Phoenix:
Model and Actress Liv Tyler (on the left) and Oscar-Nominated Actor Joaquin Phoenix (on the right) was one of the most beloved couples of the 1990s. Tyler revealed in 2015 that Phoenix was her “first love” and that she considers Joaquin and his three sisters as close family. Meanwhile, Phoenix has once said “[Liv’s] a darling. Although their marriage ended, Willis and Moore are still super close to the point that fans thought they were going to remarry! In addition, these two celebrity exes have supported each other through their ups and downs.
The two celebrity exes have even made red carpet appearances together with their blended family, which not only includes their three daughters, but also Bruce’s second wife Model Emma Heming (Bruce and Emma have been married since 2009 and have two daughters together). During one of the commercial breaks, Stone reportedly went up to where Garfield was sitting with his father and gave both a hug. Although Garfield lost to Casey Affleck for Manchester By The Sea, Stone won her first Oscar that night and while making her acceptance speech, the cameras panned to her ex, who was visibly moved.
