UF campus resources are available to help you succeed and make the most of your years in the Swamp. 1. Computer Labs
UF offers six different computer labs across campus for students to use at their convenience. There is no appointment or scheduling necessary to use them. Simply show up, and enter your GatorLink information to gain access to the computers. Computer labs are located in the Architecture building, Marston, CSE, the Hub, Norman Hall, and Weil Hall. In other words, there will always be one nearby when you need it!
2. Career Resource Center
Located in the Reitz Union, the Career Resource Center is the place to go when you need help figuring out your next step, a future career plan, or some more self discovery. Through the CRC, UF students have access to getting resumes reviewed, attending workshops, exploring majors, learning about jobs and internships, and getting ready for graduate school. The CRC also hosts career fairs throughout the school year to give students a chance to introduce themselves to potential employers. Who knows? You might earn a job or internship at your dream company.
3. Academic Advising
Whenever you need assistance with something academic-related, your advisor is here to help you. The University of Florida has many knowledgeable advisors to keep you on track and help you along your college journey. Your assigned academic advisor will be specific to your field, so he/she can answer your questions and lead you down the right path. You can schedule appointments with your advisor or (in some cases) walk in for an impromptu advising session. Academic advisors are prime resources to have throughout your years at UF.
4. Free Tutoring
If you are ever struggling in class or just need extra reinforcement, free tutors are available on campus to give you that help. Through the Teaching Center, you can schedule a free tutoring appointment or find information on free drop-in tutoring and the tutoring schedule. The Teaching Center also hosts test reviews for certain classes. You can check out the Teaching Center’s website to learn more about the on-campus tutoring options here at UF.
Staying fit in college is very important, especially when you are faced with late nights, busy schedules, and lots of unhealthy eating options. However, UF makes being healthy in college much easier. With 2 gyms (the Southwest Recreation Center and the Student Recreation & Fitness Center), Broward Outdoor Recreation Complex, fields, pools, and sports courts, there are plenty of places to get your daily exercise in without even leaving the campus. UF also offers fitness assessments, personal training, boot camp, group classes, and many other services to keep you in your best shape while in college.
6. Student Health Care Center
The Student Health Care Center is your go-to spot on campus when you get sick, hurt, or just simply aren’t feeling your best. The Infirmary Building is the Student Health Care Center’s main on-campus location, but there are also 2 other locations at Shands and Santa Fe College. At the Student Health Care Center, you can find comfort and assistance to ensure that you are in your best health at all times.
