Prom is an overhyped high school tradition that may seem really dumb. Or really great. Every great movie has a prom scene, Pretty in Pink has an exceptional one.<\/p>\n
Do not drink too much you may think you are being discreet or that it will wear off by the time you are there but your lying. Getting a little too drunk during photo time can lead to some pretty poor decisions.<\/p>\n
This is one of those decisions. During my prom, I decided that taking a nap too sober up was a good idea. So during dinner, my shoes are off and I am on the nearest couch.\u00a0 I missed dinner and was super tired by like 8.<\/p>\n
<\/span> I really hope we are past the point of inviting someone to not go alone. There is no problem with going alone. And as we have seen from countless film adaptions of this\u00a0specific\u00a0night it will ruin your night. So honestly dance by yourself and go stag instead of bringing\u00a0some dude that just meh.<\/p>\n The mistake I also made was that I didn’t\u00a0wear what I wanted. If you want to wear a certain dress wear it! If it makes you feel good and confident then that’s all that matters. Be as understated or overstated as your heart desires because if not you will regret it. I do!<\/p>\n <\/span> I am always the best at avoiding pictures.\u00a0 I made myself take the awkward prom pictures that we keep in a box until we are old. Having very little photos from prom kind of makes it feel not worth it. Its suppose to be extra and a big deal because it has been made a big deal and that is just where our expectations are.<\/p>\n Eating too much any time during the night will make you bloated and feel shitty. In short no one wants to feel like a bowling ball in pink glitter. I’m\u00a0not saying be hungry\u00a0just the awkward eating by the snack table can be problematic.\u00a0 And then you just want to lie down and rub your stomach\u00a0like its thanksgiving but wrinkling your dress isn’t\u00a0an option.<\/p>\n <\/span> Bring up drama is tiring. The night is supposed to be fun and leave your drama at home or in the hallways. If you want a magical night or even a decent night just don’t. If Gossip Girl has taught us anything is decadent parties leads to drama<\/p>\n Do not make a scene. Prom is just one of those places that you would hate if you were the one that tinged your memory. Keep all the problems away from the dance. All the hormones and tequila\u00a0is a terrible mix that will cause problems. Rum too.<\/p>\n I get it. The shoes are just EVERYTHING. And most people are over the faze of wearing converse so the options are limited. Spring shoes that are meant for prom are NOT meant to be put on our feet.<\/p>\n Prom shoes hurt but I would suggest ditch the thin strappy stiletto and go with something thicker. Find ones you like but comfort matters ladies.<\/p>\n DON’T stress. Sweat comes with stress and no one wants to be sweating at prom.
