Joining an organization on campus is one of the best and easiest ways to get involved. It is a great way to network and meet tons of new people. To make it even better, there are a lot of organizations that have the goal of making a difference. These are 10 organizations at York U that can help make a difference that you should definitely try out!<\/p>\n

<\/h2>\n

1. York First Aid<\/h2>\n

If you are looking for an organization centered around health care, York First Aid is a great spot to start. In this organization, you will get training and experience needed to become a First Responder. Once you have completed your work, you are able to volunteer and get experience in the field.<\/p>\n

2. Kappa Sigma Fraternity – Tau Upsilon<\/h2>\n

Fraternities and Sororities is one of the best ways to be a part of an organization making a difference. Specifically, The Kappa Sigma looks\u00a0to make a change on campus through both community service and philanthropy initiatives.\u00a0Also, they are a social organization and throw social events to improve student life and make students more comfortable at York!<\/p>\n

3. York Federation of Students<\/h2>\n

York Federation of Students looks at the structure of York itself, and provides service that suit students needs to create a great experience and help \u00a0Go #REDPACT!<\/p>\n

4. EnLIGHT<\/h2>\n

EnLIGHT has a focus on supporting and educating students.\u00a0This organization isn’t location at York University, but students can easily become involved and it is worth it.<\/p>\n

5. Jam For Justice<\/h2>\n

Jam For Justice is\u00a0a mix of University students and\u00a0CEGEP’s that want to bring justice through music. The organization has fundraisers\u00a0for community centres and organizes events.<\/p>\n

6. The United Nations Student Organization<\/h2>\n

If you are someone interested in politics, UNSO is definitely for you. The organization deals with the United Way. Some of the topics touched upon are\u00a0global relations, environmental studies, and human rights.<\/p>\n

7. Black Women Bridging Borders<\/h2>\n

Black Women Bridging Borders is another non-profit organization to be a part of. The purpose of the organization is to empower Black women through three programs; Advocacy, Mentorship and Academia. Black Women Bridging Boarders covers all aspect of what it means to be an African-American woman.<\/p>\n

8. Women’s Mental Health Talks<\/h2>\n

This organization is perfect to make a change by standing up and talking about mental health. This organization helps women reach their full potential.<\/p>\n

9. Moot Law Society<\/h2>\n

Moot Law Society is an academic and a social club that stimulates a court environment. Members have the opportunity to be a part of certain social events such as meet and greets, conferences and LSAT preparation opportunities.<\/p>\n

Unicef is a well known organization that help children all around the world who are less fortunate.
