15 Types Of People You’ll Meet In Toronto

mm
From the guy who is in the VIP section of a club every weekend to the girl who is always reading at the coffee shop, these are 15 types of people in Toronto

Being known for its diversity, Toronto is full of creative and different individuals all over the city. Everyone has their own kind of personality, but here are just a few familiar ones that you’ve run into more than once. This is purely out of fun, not trying to offend anyone in any way! These are the 15 types of people you’ll meet in Toronto!

1. The Overachiever

Whether in our lecture or workplace, we all know a control freak. This person is a perfectionist and always strives to be the best, doing whatever they can. While it’s admirable how hard-working and ambitious they are, sometimes it can be annoying.

2. The Film Junkie

Probably watched every film that was ever made, from old Hollywood classics to modern indies. Whether it’s a horror or rom-com, they’ve probably watched it and are always quoting to films in any conversations they take part in.

3. The Party Animal

Given the rise of the social networking scene in Toronto, there’s always that one guy who just so happens to know another guy or two that can get you hooked up with instant VIP access to all the hottest clubs and bars in the city. Yes, this person is quite the socialite and as wild as can be. You can catch him hitting up a club or bar every weekend. He’s also probably a fuckboy.

4. The Musician

Toronto is full of talented individuals and artists, whether you’re into mainstream or indie. The city is full of aspiring musicians trying to make it big, and I’m sure you’ve already come across some self-promo on your news feed from people you know.

5. The Gym Freak

We all strive to have amazing, fit bodies while living a healthy lifestyle. But, it can be hard when you have a busy schedule. However, there are two kinds of people: those who make time for gym no matter how busy their schedules are, and those who just say “f*ck it, I’ll start tomorrow”. Sadly, I am the latter. I definitely admire those who really work hard to achieve their body goals, but I’m also annoyed at those who tend to feel the need to post their everyday gym workout on social media. Are you really working out or doing it for show? Like seriously, we get it. You lift. Or so you say you do, at least.

6. The Activist

While it’s great to see that people are so passionate and fight for what they believe in. But, sometimes you can’t help but roll your eyes every time you scroll past yet another whiny rant from that one individual who thinks they’re doing the world so much good by giving in their two cents. FYI, not everything has to be made problematic. Welcome to the real world, where everyone gets offended by just about everything.

7. The Mean Queen

You’d think people would grow out of their childhood bullying phase and become mature adults over time, but you’d be wrong. The older I get, the more I realize that adults can be just as childish and ten times nastier than kids in the schoolyard. While I definitely have my mean moments, I can say that I’m still surprised when I come across people in my workplace who are just plain rude and unnecessarily mean for really no reason. Seriously, that’s just uncalled for.

8. The Social Outcast

We’ve all felt like we don’t belong somewhere at some point in our lives, but when you’re that one awkward outsider that tends to stand out among others, things can get a bit lonely. Outcasts tend to not fit in with the typical crowd because of different interests. But hey, that makes them all the more interesting to hang out with. I’m just a kid, and life is a nightmare.

9. The Goody Two-Shoes

Even though they run into a little trouble once in a while (seriously, who doesn’t?), they sure try to stay out of it as much as possible when they can. They’ll choose to do what they think is the right thing to do, even if it isn’t what they want in the end. A bit on the scared side, they’ll try to avoid conflict and won’t take part in breaking rules.

10. The Prankster

Full of never ending witty remarks, you can always catch them cracking light-hearted jokes here and there. When you’re down, you can count on them to cheer you up and break the tension when needed. While they can have their annoying moments, they usually know when it’s time for fun and games and when it’s time to get serious

11. The Techie

Most likely studying computer programming or another related field, when you’re living in the 21st century where technology is at its peak, it’s hard to not run into one of them. Clever and maybe even a bit of a know-it-all, they can definitely help you out.

12. The Troublemaker

There’s always that one person we know who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. While I wouldn’t like to be too involved with these shenanigans, it’s certainly fun listening to their wild stories on how they broke the law for the eighth time.

13. The Basic Bitch

That one girl who’s always keeping up with all the “latest trends” and thinks they’re unique from other people despite being the polar opposite; unoriginal. You can catch them with pumpkin spiced lattes in hand, Kylie Jenner lip kits, and never ending use of the dog filter on Instagram.

14. The Hot Head

That one person whose patience always seems to run low and doesn’t tolerate crap from no one. A bit on the short-tempered side, you might want to be careful with what you say or do around them. Needless to say, I am guilty of being this person.

15. The Bookworm

While everyone around is drawn into social media, this book lover would rather be drawn to books. With  a book always in hand, you can catch them reading at any time, whether they’re drinking coffee at Balzaac’s or commuting on the TTC. Probably a little judgmental side when it comes to novels being made into film adaptations.
