There’s significant diversity in culture in Queens, especially the presence of African American culture in particular. But there’s also the incredible culture diversity found in different neighborhoods that have so much to offer, especially if you’re a foodie. Saint Albans is known for its Caribbean food, Astoria for its Greek restaurants, Corona for its Latin American food, Flushing for its Chinese food stores and Jackson Heights for its Indian cuisine!
There are many great places to shop.
If you need to shop for upcoming campus events, hit Queens Center Mall or Jamaica Avenue with some friends. QCM is huge, with a variety of clothing stores and places to eat before you head back to campus.
The convenience of transportation nearby.
The convenience of two airports is ideal for students that like to travel back home on the weekends and on breaks. John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia Airports are both in Queens. Safe travels!
