Top 10 Beaches In Maui To Visit This Summer

There is no doubt that every beach in Hawaii is downright beautiful!

Here’s a list of some of the top beaches that you absolutely have to visit in Maui this summer as you start planning your vacation!

1. Kaanapali Beach

Kaanapali Beach is most known for the beach for being alongside the top luxury resorts on Maui. This being said, this mile-long beach has plenty to offer all on its own. Being that it is in such close proximity to these resorts, it is also in the perfect location near countless restaurants, shops, and other activities. The only downside to Kaanapali is that it can often be crowded, but if you show up early in the day and claim yourself a nice spot in the sound, you will have nothing to worry about!

2. Hamoa Beach

Hamoa Beach is ranked one of the top beaches in Maui, making it no question that it needed to be included on this list. With this in mind, Hamoa offers incredible views, being surrounded by cliffs, making it the perfect amount of secluded from the business of the Maui streets, while still being easily accessible to the public. Being that there can often be strong currents at this beach, be cautious while in the water, but this unique spot is definitely worth your visit when it comes to sightseeing in Maui.

3. Wailea Beach

Wailea Beach is one of those hotspots on Maui that never disappoints. There is definitely a “resort vibe” due to its close proximity to multiple resorts on Maui, but it is far from limited in beauty and views. Luckily, the water tends to be fairly calm at Wailea Beach, making it a great beach to visit if you are looking to relax in Maui’s beautiful water!

4. Oneuli Black Sand Beach

Oneuli Black Sand Beach is one of my favorite beaches on this list! This is far from your average beach, and the major perk can be understood by its name, “black sand beach.” While it is not necessarily a beach where you will be able to lay out a towel and sunbathe your day away, it is definitely a sight absolutely worth seeing. If you want to separate yourself from the busy buzz of the island and sightsee something new and unique, visit Oneuli Black Sand Beach.

5. Maluaka Beach

Maluaka Beach is near the Wailea and Makena Beach coasts, making it an easily found location. Something else that is easily found at this beach is sea turtles, making it known as “Turtle Town.” If you are looking for an exciting place to hop in the water and snorkel, you are likely to find some incredible wildlife here at this beach! Definitely check out Maluaka beach, and I know you won’t be disappointed.

6. Keawakapu Beach

Keawakapu Beach on Maui is the definition of the perfect beach for chilling in the sun and taking in the simple beauty of Maui. Something special about this beach is that it is far from any type of commercialized property, allowing you to take in the natural beauty of Maui without having any distractions. I find this to be an amazing beach to visit when you are hoping for something a bit more calm, and private, than places such as Kaanapali Beach.

7. Lahaina Baby Beach

Lahaina Baby Beach is a nice change of pace from the other vast beaches in Maui. Something I like about it is that it is often frequented by Maui locals, bringing about a different vibe than your classic “resort-style” beaches on Maui. This beach is small, with shallow water and quaint views, making it a great beach to visit if you are bringing any little kiddos with you on your trip, or just if you are looking for a place with a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

8. Big Beach Makena

Makena Beach State Park can be separated into “Big Beach” and “Little Beach.” With this in mind, I highly recommend the big beach! The water here is insanely clear, making it so welcoming (and luckily there are multiple lifeguards on duty throughout the beach). Being that many of the popular beaches on Maui can become overly populated, Big Beach Makena is one of my favorites, being that it can spaciously welcome COUNTLESS visitors without feeling too crowded.

9. Kapalua Bay Beach

Kapalua Bay Beach is simply one of the CLASSIC beaches in Maui that definitely deserves a visit while you’re on Maui this summer. While it can often be crowded and a bit overpopulated, this simply speaks on the beauty of what the beach has to offer. There’s a reason this beach is so popular, so definitely give it a visit during your stay on Maui!

10. Hana Bay Beach Park

Hana Bay Beach Park is a beautiful, scenic stop along the road to Hana. This being said, it definitely takes a bit of a drive to be able to reach, but is oh so worth it! Also, this means that it is not heavily populated, giving you the perfect opportunity to chill on the sand and in the calm water without feeling too overwhelmed with people. If you’re looking for a beautiful beach with friendly Hana locals, Hana Bay Beach Park is definitely worth visiting.
