Despite what some may think, the single life is fabulous! You don\u2019t have to answer to anyone, can always do your own thing, and never have to put someone else\u2019s happiness ahead of your own. But there comes a point where you start to realise you\u2019ve been on your own long enough to drop the \u201csingle\u201d from #singlelife. Here are 15 signs that just maybe,<\/i> you\u2019ve been single a little too long.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. The notion of ever having to share a bed with another human is enough to make you want to roll over and go right back to sleep.<\/span><\/h2>\n

You share your bed with your phone, your laptop, and maybe a pet. That\u2019s it. After all, the best part of being single is sleeping around – sleeping all around that bed of yours.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. People have given up on asking if you\u2019re seeing anyone. <\/span><\/h2>\n

Your relationship status is a given as opposed to an (annoying) talking point. And on that note:<\/span><\/p>\n

3. People have stopped trying to set you up.<\/span><\/h2>\n

For a while, your <\/b>loved-up <\/b>friends would try to set you up with literally anyone to fill their double date quota (\u201cYou like Ed Sheeran? My friend carries the recessive redhead gene, you\u2019re literally made for each other!\u201d). Now, either your pals have learned to respect your perfectly valid lifestyle choice, or you\u2019ve ditched them in favour for a more supportive squad. <\/span><\/p>\n

4. Engagement \/ wedding \/ \u201cwe\u2019re expecting!\u201d announcements no longer worry you.<\/span><\/h2>\n

There was a time when the sight of yet another<\/i> Facebook post featuring a high school friend with a splashy ring on her finger would threaten to trigger a panic attack, or a grainy ultrasound of a bean shaped human would have you counting the seconds on your biological clock. But you\u2019ve since realised it\u2019s totally okay <\/b>to not follow the same path as everyone else, and that it\u2019s possible to be happy for your friends while being equally happy on your own journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. But Valentine\u2019s Day is still a sore spot.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Why is everything two for one? Why can\u2019t single people enjoy half priced food too? The discrimination has to end! <\/span><\/p>\n

6. Your idea of Netflix and chill is you on the couch with a tub of ice cream. <\/span><\/h2>\n

I don\u2019t want anything distracting me from Riverdale, <\/i>thank you very much.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. And the idea of compromising your plans for someone else makes you actually want to die alone. <\/span><\/h2>\n

I\u2019ll never understand people who \u201ccan\u2019t\u201d do something because their partner isn\u2019t interested. No-one is going to stop me from seeing Mamma Mia the Musical<\/i>. NO-ONE.<\/span><\/p>\n

8. You\u2019ve sort of forgotten that underwear comes in matching sets.<\/span><\/h2>\n

If it can\u2019t be bought at Kmart though, do you really<\/i> need it?<\/span><\/p>\n

9. And what even is a razor? <\/span><\/h2>\n

50% not shaving to fight back against an outdated patriarchal norm, 50% not shaving because no-one is going to see my legs anyway \u00af\\_(\u30c4)_\/\u00af<\/span><\/p>\n

10. Your ex might start looking appealing again.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Even if you\u2019re perfectly happy on your own, it\u2019s totally normal to sometimes crave some company and you might catch yourself thinking fondly of the past. But then you remember why you broke up, and the idea of spending a lazy Sunday cuddled up in a pillow fort with a narcissistic fuckboy is suddenly far less alluring.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

11. And if you\u2019ve dared to brave the dating apps, you have enough horror stories to fill a Stephen King novel.<\/span><\/h2>\n

12. You\u2019ve mastered the art of applying sunscreen to your own back.<\/span><\/h2>\n

And zipping up your own dresses, and fixing the back of your hair, and \u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n

13. Eating out alone no longer phases you.<\/span><\/h2>\n

You know the value of a date with a good book and an amazing pasta dish.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, why do people say they can\u2019t go somewhere if they don\u2019t have someone to go with? Some of you have never been to the movies or a stadium concert on your own and it shows.<\/span><\/p>\n

14. People start to worry that you\u2019re stuck in a rut.<\/span><\/h2>\n

And continually finding witty answers to questions like \u201cwhy are you still single?\u201d or \u201cwhen are you going to have kids\u201d has become draining.<\/span><\/p>\n

15. But honestly, you\u2019re owning the single life and aren’t willing to sacrifice your independence for anyone less than extraordinary.<\/span><\/h2>\n
