8 Things You Should Totally Do If It Was Your Last Day On Earth

What would you do if it was your last day on earth? I think we’ve all thought about the endless possibilities at some point, but just in case you haven’t, here are 8 things you should totally do if it was your last day on earth. We’ve got you covered from some obvious (expensive) ideas, to some that carry a little more sentimentality.

1. Book a fancy hotel suite

It’s something that we always see in the movies; the main character finds out they only have days to live, and somewhere along the way they always end up in a super expensive hotel living it up. And why not? Live like royalty for the day! Drink your champagne, order all the room service, get facials and massages. Why not ask for a cute guitar player to sing you to sleep or while you get your nails done in your deluxe suite? It’s all possible at Hotel Live Your Last.

2. Hire a yacht

Get nautical and live your best life out on clear, blue oceans one last time. Swim with the dolphins, snorkel the water underworld beneath your fancy yacht and eat shrimp out of a martini glass. Throw your arms out wide on the bow and exclaim “I’m the king of the world!”. Don’t deny it, you’ve always wanted to do that.

3. Go shopping (for a good cause)

What would be a last day on earth without a little cash spend-age? Hit up the big name stores and loosen the purse strings. I’m talking Chanel, Gucci, anything Julia Roberts would have admired in Pretty Woman. Once you think you’ve done enough damage, donate it all to charity; women’s shelters, homeless shelters, and Salvation Army stores. You won’t need those things anymore, but underprivileged people would definitely appreciate your generosity!

4. Skydive

This is one that people often think of when they think of their last day, and it’s one you should totally do anyway. But in this case, since it’s your last day, gather up your courage and see the world from a different angle! A birds-eye view, if you will. Yes, it is a little scary, but the best things are! And what’s there to be scared of. Not to be that person, but it’s your last day anyway so what’s the worst that could happen? Plus, think of the view! You’d be going out on a high, my friend.

5. Burn. Everything.

Now before you start your lighters, I’m not talking about lighting up fires for the sake of it. Well, maybe a little. But the things that you’ve never needed and are no use to anyone, pile it into a *safe* container and blaze it up babay! What a satisfying way to end your last day. Grab some marshmallows and some sticks and have a little campfire! Go out in a blaze of glory!

6. Quit your job

But don’t just quit your job. Quit your job in a way worthy of your last day on earth. Throw some papers in the air, smash the fax machine that’s fifteen years too old, throw old coffee in your boss’ face (if they deserve it; no need to be rude for no reason). Even if you liked your job, I’m sure you’ve thought of a boss way to quit that people would talk about for years. Your story would live on for generations and be a light to all those wanting to quit after you. Congratulations, you’ve left a legacy!

7. Throw a party in your honour

If you knew you had one last day on earth, wouldn’t you want it to be all about you? Here’s where this idea becomes handy. Throwing a party for yourself and inviting all your friends and family would make sure you go out with the biggest rager you’ve ever had! And to make it even more bomb, why not invite your favourite celebrities? Oh hey, Ryan Gosling, you here to celebrate me? So is everyone else, come on in!

8. Climb a mountain

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my last day on earth than on the top of a mountain with the people I love the most, the world spread out before me for my viewing pleasure, the sun setting in the horizon and a gourmet buffet. Sure, you’d probably be puffed once you got to the top, but when you think of the reward, it’s enough to bring a tear to your eye. There’s truly nothing better than good food and great company. Add on to that a spectacular view good enough for the sun to look down on every day, and you’ve got yourself a pretty special way to end your last day on earth. Doesn’t mean you have to wait until your last day to do this, though. Just saying.
