An Open Letter To The Kardashians And Their Empire

Oh, the Kardashians—can’t stand ’em but we can’t live without ’em.

Have you ever thought about what you’d say to the Kardashians if you ever got a chance at a meet-and-greet? I don’t know if you’ve gone through your checklist, but here is what I’ve got to say to one of the most famous families in the showbiz and beyond.

Dear Kardashian Klan,

I’d like to start off by saying thank you. Thank you for the entertainment, thank you for the outstanding lipstick shades, but most importantly, thank you for showing us the value of family.

In a society where family means less and less each and every day, you guys show your fans what it’s like to stick together through thick and thin.

Let me start with one of the family’s lowest PR moments: Kim Kardashian’s 72-day marriage to basketball player Kris Humphries. I know it was probably hurtful when fans and industry members said this was all staged—who, in their right minds, would stage something as big and serious as a wedding? But this didn’t bother you, momager Kris Jenner. All you wanted was your child to be happy. You’re a boss.

Right before the wedding, you asked Kim: “Do you want out? You’re not yourself.” You didn’t give anything a second thought, ready to call the entire wedding off for the sake of your daughter’s happiness. How can this possibly be staged? I understood that emotions were involved, it’s too bad others couldn’t see it. But, thank you for holding her hand through her big day with Kris, and then in the moments she needed her family during the divorce. She needed all of you and you guys delivered.

Let’s face it: You guys come across A TON of controversies.

Sometimes it seems like shit really hit the fan and other times, I’ll be honest, I get the impression that these scandals come as a publicity stunt. But, whatever the case may be, the Kardashians rally together to come out of the situation—you guys stand strong and tall, together, momager and all. I respect that.

Remember when Kendall Jenner was caught in the middle of a heated storm with her Pepsi advert? Yeah, the time that the soda brand tried justifying its actions as a means of promoting peace and unity? Fashion model Jenner was the face of that issue and she apologized for being a part of it in any way, shape, and form. And what did the Kardashians do? You guys helped the baby sis take it as a learning experience and move on (Kim, you rock!). Thank you for helping her back up, she needed it.

And, I don’t think I can go without addressing the most recent headlines featuring the Kardashian family: IOL reports “Khloe Kardashian backtracks, blames Tristan Thompson for cheating scandal.” Just when we thought it was all done and wouldn’t happen again, Thompson strikes again…Everyone was heartbroken and we could only imagine what Khloe and the rest of the family must have been going through. Firstly, Khloe, you got this. And, if there’s ever a day that you think you may fall, look back and see that your family is there to catch you with open arms.

Scandal after scandal

When Jordyn Wood appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, her confessions got the world buzzing—Khoe almost immediately turned into the bad guy, the bully no one wanted to listen to anymore. But, the Kardashians didn’t bat an eye. Again, you sisters rallied together in support of your beloved Koko, with Kim tweeting her support throughout the whole scandal (girl, you have my heart for going above and beyond every single time). And, who is Woods to really come in between the two sisters that share an unbreakable bond; Kylie, your undying support for sis Khloe isn’t going unrecognized. Sorry, your best friend couldn’t pull through but thank you for pulling through for your older sister, it’ll go a long way, I promise.

Kardashian Klan, thank you for being the family that we can all look up to. Regardless of where you put your mouth, your heart is in the right place—at home with those you love.

Again, it may be that you’re all close-knit because you have a big empire to save. But, someone once said, “A wise person should have money in their head, not in their heart” and I truly believe this applies to you all. You’re trailblazers in the world of business, money-making is on your mind at all times (there’s nothing wrong with that), but you would never compromise your personal lives for the money. I feel that aura, it’s an amazing vibe. So, regardless of all the scandals, the ups, and the downs, I encourage you to continue to have your head up high and continue to take over the world, just do it together. That’s how you all look your best, trust me.

In the meantime, I’ll continue to keep up with the Kardashians, not because I value the overrated content (sorry, not sorry!), but I respect the foundation of your Klan: family.

Here’s to more matte lipsticks and fewer scandals!

So, that’s what I had to say to the Kardashians, the family that reigns supreme in the world of makeup, entertainment, fashion and more! What would you say?
