A Ranking of Holiday Desserts: From Rad to Bad

Not all holiday desserts are created equal. Here is our definitive ranking of the best and worst holiday desserts around!

Desserts are one of the best parts of the holidays! From yummy pies to decadent cakes, it is always important to save a little room for the last course. Not all holiday desserts are created equal, however. Keep reading for a ranking of holiday desserts: from rad to bad.

1. Gingerbread Cookies

These delicious treats scream holiday cheer with every sweet expression iced on their faces!

2. Fudge

Peanut butter, nuts, sprinkles, marshmallows, you name it! All mixed in a creamy chocolate cement, is that not amazing?

3. Bûche de Noël (Roll Cake)

If you have never had one of these desserts, you should! It is a chocolatey sponge, rolled with a thick yummy cream, covered in frosting to look like a fireplace log! Perfect for eating by a blazing, cozy fire!

4. Toffee

English toffee made with a yummy sugary bottom and a chocolate top creating that perfect buttery chocolate crunch! Sprinkled with a crunchy nut layer….YUM.

5. Muddy Buddies

Sweet and salty Chex, mixed with chocolate, peanut butter and more! Deliciously messy and oh-so fun.

6. Sugar Cookies

These festive and decorative desserts make it on the bottom side of the list because as delicious as they are…with all the desserts out there, they land on the boring side. I would be lying if I said they don’t taste amazing though (even the store bought ones).

7. Jelly Thumbprint cookies

These cookies are one of those desserts that you either love, or hate. As my mother’s personal fave (but not so much mine), they come in at 7th place.

8. Candy Canes

Whether it be peppermint or cherry, they are a super festive treat that look great in a cup of cocoa or on the Christmas tree! However, they get stuck in your teeth like crazy and let’s face it – who really wants a mint for dessert??

9. Fruit Cake

Who actually makes these? The green colored cherries just screams bizarre!

10. Aspic (Fruit encased in Jell-O)

These kinds of holiday desserts usually have a creamy layer that is weirdly white and the fruits inside get coated and infested by the gelatin. At least it is fruit filled and not meat filled, like other aspics (EW)!
