10 Best East Coast Beaches You Should Visit This Summer

The east coast is home to some of the greatest beaches America has to offer. Everyone thinks the west coast and down south are the only places worthy of a visit, but they’re wrong! Up the coast of New England down to the tip of Florida holds some of the most beautiful spots you could ever hope to visit. Check ’em out!

1. Key West, Florida

Key West is the best spot you’ll find that’s basically tropical. Not to mention, it has always been one of the best, most notorious vacation spots. The food, the views, the endless resorts and night life has people swarming the south- especially in the Summer. We think this is more of a singles party crowd that’s ready to go crazy all night. If I were you, I’d get down there ASAP so you can see what we mean for yourself before it’s overrun!

2. Nantucket Island

If you didn’t know Nantucket was home to an isolated island that holds one of the best film, wine, and dining scenes in the Summer, it’s ok. We didn’t either, but it is! It has a tight-knit community and the party explodes in the Summer! We hear it isn’t so bad in the Winter either, but it probably gets pretty chilly. It is, after all, one of the more northern east coast beaches.

3. Cape Hatteras, North Carolina

North Carolina is one of the best vacation spots. We know from experience! Cape Hatteras has a great camping spot with a beautiful lighthouse and amazing restaurants that are definitely vacation worthy. North Carolina is almost at the center of our east coast beaches so the weather is pretty much perfect. Like all the time. Go!

4. Bar Harbor, Maine

Moving back up north now, the entire state of Maine has been home to campers, beach-goers and vacations of all types all year round. This Summer you totally need to check out Bar Harbor. It’s small, but gorgeous. There are amusement parks scattered and of course some of the greatest sea food spots not only for east coast beaches, but for the country. Hello! Maine lobster?! It’s literally to die for!

5. Cumberland Island, Georgia

Cumberland Island is such a mystical place, there are really no other words to describe it. It’s practically deserted and covered with the Carnegie family Dungeness mansion ruins and wild horses. The whole place is just so exciting to explore, it’s great for all kinds of vacationers. There are no houses, no other structures, just perfectly serene beauty and one of the most peaceful east coast beaches you could ever hope to find.

6. Rockaway Beach, New York

Unfortunately no matter where you go in New York, it’s bound to be crowded. That’s how it always has been and always will be. At least with this beach you can get away from the even-more crowded cities to enjoy some nice sand and sun, New York style; and everyone knows there’s no style like NY Style!

7. Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston is an amazingly preserved, beautiful town. It’s a historic cosmopolitan that also happens to be home to world-class sailing. While this is one of the more sight-seeing east coast beaches, that doesn’t make it any less desirable. Not all vacations are meant for high-throttle action-packed adventures.
