Yeah I Drank Coffee Made From Animal Poop In Bali

mm
I'm willing to bet you've never tried coffee made from animal poop. I can say that I have, though, and I can tell you all you need to know.

Bali has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, the island is surrounded by amazing beaches, the food is great and the people are so welcoming. For anyone thinking of going on holiday to an exotic island then I would definitely recommend Bali. Of course, it is on the other side of the world so getting there is expensive and I won’t lie, everything there is on the pricey side but it’s worth every penny. When I went last year I had so much fun and enjoyed everything the island had to offer. But you read the title of this article so you know exactly what it’s about and yes it is true! I drank coffee made from animal poop when I was in Bali (you can google it, it’s a thing). Don’t worry I didn’t just accept a coffee looking drink from some stranger on the street who told me it’s completely safe to drink, it’s an actual thing in Bali.

Bali is a small island.

So when I got there I booked a tour of a small part of the island which took us to a beautiful place for water sports, to this animal coffee place, a stunning temple and for dinner on a beach at sunset, this tour was completely worth it and if you go Bali you have to book one. Anyway, we got to the animal coffee place which wasn’t like your local Starbucks, the tables were outside, the animals were also there and there was this little place where they made the coffee. It was pretty much in the middle of nowhere and this made it better because it was peaceful, it had more of a traditional feeling to it.

The coffee itself is, in fact, coffee made from animal poop.

The animal is a luwak, I actually got to see the animal and honestly it just looked like a raccoon. The guy explained how the luwak eats only coffee beans and then once it is passed through it the dung is collected, roasted then used as coffee. When the coffee came it also came with different little glasses of teas and coffees all flavored differently, from turmeric to love tea and with these banana chip things which were really nice.

But down to the part you probably want to know the most, did it taste good?

And yes it did, it was really strong coffee, I mean I love strong coffee but this was a whole new level of strong. If you had given me a cup of this coffee in a coffee shop then I would never have guessed it was coffee made from animal poop.

And even though the guy showed me the gift shop at the end where I could buy it, I didn’t.

I don’t think it’s something I’d drink everyday but I’m glad I got to try it. It is the weirdest thing I have ever had in my life! If I ever have the chance of going back to Bali then I sure as hell will try it again, it was weird but it was also really good.

If you’re as crazy as me and are a huge coffee addict and this sounds like something you would like to try then you don’t have to fly all the way to Bali to try it, you can get some off google but you’ll be spending £50 a bag! It’s crazy expensive, so I’ll be sticking to nestle.

What do you think of coffee made from animal poop? Would you ever try it or even go as far as buying yourself a bag to have as your morning coffee?
