5 Ways To Score That Second Date

mm
Here are some easy tips on how to score a second date with that special someone! They are definitely easier than you think!

First dates are already stressful enough, especially if you really like the person and have high hopes for the date to go well. You’ll spend time worrying about the chemistry between you two, if you’re talking too much or worse embarrassing yourself, etc. With all that storming your mind, the last thing you want to think about is if whether or not there will be a second date or not. Well, here’s how to lock in a second date:

1. Don’t Treat It Like An Interview

On a first date, you want to make sure you hit all the important topics such as family, career, interests, etc. However, the conversation shouldn’t feel like you’re going down a list of questions. The conversation should seem light hearted and natural. It helps to start out with a simple question such as “tell me about yourself” or “how’ve you been” and see where the conversation take you. You might even be surprised of how much you learn about your date.

2. Don’t Touch Your Phone!

I honestly find it disrespectful and unattractive when my date is constantly on his phone or checking it for no reason. If you’re on a date, then your date deserves your undivided attention. If you’re on your phone a lot during the date, you’re basically telling your date that he or she isn’t worth their time. That being said, I have no problem keeping the phone on the table in case someone texts or calls you about an emergency. If you know something might come up, be honest and tell your date about it so they don’t get the wrong impression. I usually explain to my date that my mother will freak out if I don’t respond right away, and so far, they’ve been understandable about it.

3. Act Like A Gentleman/Lady

Your first date with a person might be his or her first impression of who you are as a person; therefore, you should present your best self. So, remember to hold the door open for your lady, wear something appropriate but true to your personal style, and say please and thank you. Trust me, it will make all the difference in the world if you remember your manners.

4. Choose A Neutral Location And Time

The location and time of a date sets the tone of the date. If you decide to have a date at 10 o’clock at night at the fancy club down the street, it might give either or both of you the impression that your going to hook up. If you’re trying to avoid this dilemma, I suggest picking a time no later than 8 o’clock at night. I also suggest sticking to the agenda of coffee, a drink, or food. Setting up this type of date will also give your date the impression that you hope that there will be a second date and possibly more.

5. Relax And Be Yourself

Don’t forget about this. It’s important to relax and be yourself because that will truly determine whether or not there is going to be a second date or not. If the two of you have a lot in common, can have a natural conversation, and more importantly have chemistry then there will most likely be a second date. Don’t try to push the conversation or lie about whom you are because honestly there isn’t always supposed to be a second date. So, don’t worry about if or not there will be a second date with every date you have; save second dates for the dates that deserve it.
