How Having Nothing Figured Out Leads To You Figuring It All Out

mm
I will look back on my younger years and think "how the hell did I make it here?" If I could imagine how having nothing figured out leads you to figuring it all out, it would be something like this:

Confession of my nineteen year-old self: I have absolutely nothing figured out. And I love it. I don’t envy those of you who do, either. Actually, I feel kind of bad for you – only because I feel like you might be missing out on the great adventure we call life. Life is more fun when you live it day by day, with no expectations clouding your vision, telling you how you “should” be living. I may not have my shit together now, but one day I will. And when that day comes, I will look back on my younger years and think “how the hell did I make it here?” If I could imagine how having nothing figured out leads you to figuring it all out, it would be something like this:

1. Not having a plan alleviates the stress of failure – stress is not good for the soul!

If everything happens for a reason, we have just got to let it happen. You can’t just wake up on the daily and have a plan for each day to come, because sadly your plan will probably fail in some ways. And when things don’t go as planned, you will most likely be pissed. So, just wake up and say to yourself “Hey world, I’m gonna kick your ass today” and then do that. You’ll be way happier, and stress free! Without this stress you will be able to accomplish more, and in a more enjoyable manner.

2. I honestly have no clue what I want to add to this article, but I’ll figure it out.

I like having the freedom to say “I’ll figure it out” because I can make everything my own when I take it slow, and ensure that it is something I will be proud of. Living life this way, it will eventually turn out the same. If you take every day in strides of grace, with some kind of a means to an end, that end will certainly be awesome.

3. You cannot have it all figured out without making mistakes.

Mistakes are crucial, because they teach us a lesson every time we make one. I certainly do not have it all figured out, and I 100% make a lot of mistakes. But, these mistakes have shaped me into who I am today, and I love who I am today. In order to see a future, we need to live presently and allow life to come as it may, even if that means making a few mistakes here and there. Without them, we would be inexperienced. How could you really have it all figured out without experience? News flash for all you perfectionists: you can’t! Live a little people. Don’t try figuring it all out immediately!

4. Fate created a path for your life. If you follow that path, you’ll be just fine.

I mean, hey. Just look at me. I think turned out pretty good so far. Kinda? My path of fate has been super bumpy, with lots of ups and downs. But its been a great one to follow, and I wouldn’t want to live my life any other way. I’d rather not be figuring it all out.

5. We aren’t supposed to have it figured out.

If you had it figured out, what would be the point of all this stuff we do leading up to that piece of life where we are supposed to say “alright, I’ve got it now! I’m figured out.” I honestly do not believe I will ever reach that point, and quite frankly, I don’t want to. I like living in the unknown – it’s fun. The unknown is where we grow and learn, and that’s how we will figure it all out.

I think we stress it too much – the idea of having it all figured out. Society tells us we have got to have a plan, or else we are bound to fail. But, like many other kids my age, I don’t have a plan, and I don’t think I am failing at all. I think I am living; and I am living honestly at that. I believe that simply just living life will bring me where I am supposed to be, and I am excited to take that journey. Life has been sweet so far – I know she won’t let me down.
