As if spending late nights in the studio and traveling on the weekends wasn’t enough, being a dancer is simply a lifestyle no matter your age. You have been fortunate enough to spend a good portion of your life learning a plethora of tips and tricks that will last forever making those “I can’t I have dance” nights all worth it. Read on to see the top 12 things you would only know from growing up as a dancer.

 1. Make-up for a night out?

No problem, I can have a full face done with lashes included in approximately 15 minutes. All the quick make-up changes backstage prepared you for the dreaded “be ready in 15” text from your friends.

2. The magical cure to shin splints are simply one ice cube.

All you need to do is rub the ice cube up and down your shin until it melts and VOILA all better! This is the most handiest trick you learn from growing up as a dancer.

3. Hearing a song and saying “OMG I had a dance to that!”

Supermarkets, clubs, libraries, it doesn’t matter. Anytime Michael Buble’s “I’m Feeling Good” comes on you already know I will be reminiscing

4. Falling for that guy in a club who can dance.

5. Starting homework at 11 in college?

Please, I didn’t get back from the studio until 11:30 in high school. Nothing like those long nights spent rehearsing in the studio straight into studying for your chemistry test the next morning. Relying on coffee, water, and Red Bull are key.

6. Having your entire Instagram popular page be filled with dancers.

No, I don’t spend hours watching make-up or slime videos when I could be watching Madison Cubbage’s latest turn sequence.

7. Messy bun? No such thing.

It’s just a sin. All fly aways MUST be swept away was a key lesson you learned from growing up as a dancer.

8. When you can’t study with music because in less then 30 seconds you will break out into a fully choreographed solo disregarding all the other students in the library
