11 Things To Do If You’re Not Going Anywhere For Spring Break

Are you wondering what to do if you're not going anywhere for spring break? Don't worry! There's plenty of ways to be productive over break!

Everyone is going on vacation it can get pretty boring if you’re not going anywhere for spring break. You have a week off from school and your worries. Sure, you could catch up on all that homework and reading you have to do, but who really actually accomplishes that? You bring your books home with you, and they never even leave your backpack. These are 11 things you could actually do if you’re not going anywhere for Spring Break!

1. Exercise!

Yes, I put this on here. They say it takes 30 days for something to become a habit. Well, spring break is usually a week so it’s a place to start. If its nice out, then go for a run around the block. Or if running isn’t your thing, then put on an exercise video and follow along. There are some great ones on YouTube and it gives you some extra motivation.

2. Go for a hike.

Find a park by your house and explore the different trails they offer. Aim to eventually go enough to know where each path leads, then find a different park and do it over again. It can even count as exercising. Bring along your phone or camera and you can catch some awesome photos that are totally Instagram worthy.  If you’re feeling adventures, go hike up in the mountains and you could get to see some pretty incredible views.

3. Explore your town.

Do something you’ve never done before. Find a new coffee shop or bakery. Unless you live in a town like Stars Hallow from Gilmore Girls, there are plenty of hidden treasures around the world, and chances are you live close to at least one. Just go into a store you’ve never been in before and you might really enjoy it.

4. Read a book.

The thing we don’t do enough of. Read a book. Spring break doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep your brain stimulated. Read the Harry Potter series, everyone has to at some point. Beware, once you start you wont be able to stop. Get cozy with some with some fuzzy socks and comfy couch, and you’ll be set for hours.

5. Binge watch Netflix!

We’ve all been guilty of this. You don’t have any responsibilities making you feel guilty, you might as well take advantage of it. Finish Greys Anatomy and cry with the rest of us. Netflix and chill with a bowl of popcorn and some chocolate. Watch that Rom Com you’ve been meaning to watch and try not to cry too much!

6. Work

Work for the week you have off from school and make some dough. Use this money for whatever shenanigans you get into at school. Or save it for a crazy spring break trip next year. They say don’t work at a place you love; if you love Starbucks working there will definitely make you hate it.

7. Volunteer

Boost your resume by volunteering. Try considering places related to your major. For instance, if you want to be veterinarian, try volunteering at an animal clinic. Call them up and volunteer your time.

8. Spend time catching up with family and friends.

Have a girls night with all the people you haven’t seen in months. After high school, you can easily lose touch with all the people you use to spend your weekends with. Give them a call, and see if they have the same spring break as you. Have a sleep over, eat tons of pizza and brownies with face masks and rom coms. You won’t regret it.

9. Relax

You don’t have any 8am classes to wake up for, or an all nighter to pull for the deadly exam. So you might as well relax, use a lavish bath bomb and soak for a bit. Drink some tea while you’re at it. You deserve it.

10. Clean

This may be the one of the last things to do if you’re not going anywhere for spring break, but it’s not called spring cleaning for no reason. You might as well do it during spring break. Clean out your closet and donate clothes you don’t wear anymore. Dust those ceiling fans, and wash those pillows. Do all those things you dread doing, but should get done.

11. Bake!

Brownies, cupcakes, and chocolate covered strawberries, oh my. Bake to your little heart’s desire. Play chef for the day, maybe your baked good will come out amazing or maybe they’ll come out burnt and dry. Think of this as practice at winning one of those fancy baking shows on the food network!
