8 Clever Makeup Tips For College Girls

With so many other things going on in our lives, worrying about makeup application is probably that last thing your mind. But with these clever makeup tips for college girls you can have your face on and good to head out the door in seconds!

1. Use baby wipes to fix up botched eyeliner application.

When creating the wing of your eyeliner, it should be along the same diagonal of your lower eyelid and come to a firm point. There are tons of other makeup tips for college girls saying that applying tape for your diagonal line works best…well they’re wrong! The tape residue is bad for the soft, delicate nature of your eye skin. To keep your youthful and firm skin, be gentle and DON’T use tape. You can get a baby wipe, hold down tightly so you see your finger nail shape and fix any imperfections of your eyeliner that way. Plus baby wipes typically have lotion in them, so its moisturizing and cleaning up gently!

2. Match your foundation to the tanned, upside of your hand when testing out foundations (and NOT your wrist).

The highlight you use should be a shade or two lighter and your shadow should be a shade darker. But ladies, foundation is best used in moderation (like on special occasions) and not for everyday use. When applying it to your skin day in and day out, your skin gets addicted to the chemicals, and when you do decide to go without foundation – your skin actually begins to break out! So a little goes a long way in this case. And a little FYI: contouring your face should be left for photo shoots, filming and stage work to heighten physical features under heavy, bright lights; not for a day to class. Quicken up your morning routine by kicking that step out!

3. Use highlighter to make your eyes look more awake.

We all have those mornings when we hit snooze 2, 5, 7 times, so why not look good when doing it? I am in constant search of makeup tips for college girls that fake a more awake look…and this one is a gem. If you have 3 minutes to spare in the morning, get rid of those under eye bags and dark spots by applying some of highlighter under your eye. This allows the light sources around you to reflect off your skin to create a more awake and evenly toned you! Who knew sleeping in could look so good?

4. Apply Vaseline to plump up your lashes.

Always envy those women and men with long and full eyelashes? Never more with this one simple trick! Apply a thin layer of Vaseline on your eyelashes before you apply your mascara to condition your lashes and to create a protective barrier between the chemicals of the mascara and your lashes. Vaseline also doubles as a makeup remover since the layer first applied loosens the mascara. The Vaseline conditions your lashes over night and makes them thick and shiny for those weekend-no-makeup-days.

5. Make your eyes POP with white eyeliner.

The best makeup tips for college girls are the ones that help us not look like we only got 3 hours of sleep last night. If you want to appear more awake, make your eyes look fuller, or wear thin framed glasses, then apply some shimmer white eyeliner to your bottom water line. This will instantly make you appear more alert and allow your eyes to pop behind your lens!

6. Use eyeliner on your eyebrows instead of an eyebrow pencil.

Ladies! Your face doesn’t naturally produce black hairs. Even if it appears black, trust me, it’s really, really dark brown. This is crucial to remember when trying to figure out the shape and color of your eyebrows. Brown suits most women best and there’s a wide variety of shades to choose from. I personally find the pencil eyeliner to be too bulky or flat after the first use, so I apply cream eyeliner with a thin, angled, flat brush. When creating your defining lines, to keep a smooth line, apply the bottom and top lines in one stroke of the brush. Use the baby wipe method to clean up any imperfections along the way! Finally, to keep your eyebrow in place, tap on some matching brown eyeshadow to set the makeup in place so it doesn’t run down with your eyebrow sweat.

7. Instantly create a springtime feel with shimmer.

It’s about to turn seasons again, so you know what that means! Shimmer eyeshadow is in. So if you want to dazzle in the sunshine and get that spring look in your makeup palette, considering using more shimmery and baked shadows. My personal favorite would be Urban Decay’s Electric palette and Urban Decay’s shimmery individual eyeshadows. A little goes a long way and you won’t regret this purchase! To pop even MORE, add in a flashy color, like magenta, teal, tangerine, you name it! The possibilities are endless.

8. Always, ALWAYS wash and moisturize your face.

Finally, and possibly the most important makeup tips for college girls, is to always wash and moisturize. When your day is done and your makeup must come off, wash your face with Acure Brightening Facial Scrub with Sea Kelp and moisturize with Johnson’s Intense Moisture Cream. The scrub is safe for the environment, organic and leaves your skin feeling smooth and your pores noticeably smaller. But a word of precaution, this is a every -3-day-treatment scrub, it’s not meant for daily use. In between the days you use the scrub, find a cream based wash to be gentle with your face and all you’re applying to it. The moisturizer is to condition your skin after scrubbing out its pores. A little goes a long way with this product, a small dab can cover your entire face! Another precautionary note, do not overly rub your skin around, as noted above, your skin is sensitive and wrinkles quick, so be gentle!

Good luck ladies and wake up every morning feeling beauty and refreshed with these clever makeup tips for college girls!
