6 Ways To Party at Kent When You’re Not 21

Being the baby of your class/friend group has its pros and cons… but mostly cons when it comes to the drinking age being 21. When you’re 20 and your friends are 21, it sometimes feels like you’re holding back the crowd from going to the bars. Turning 21 after all of your friends is the worst, but if you know how to party while you’re waiting for that day to come, it doesn’t have to be so bad. Here are 6 ways to party at Kent if you are not 21 yet.

1. Hit the frats.

I know it’s so cliche and you will probably still do it when you turn 21 from time to time, but partying at the frats is the ultimate way to go about your crazy Thursday or Saturday night in Kent.

2. Have a wine night!

Grab a bottle of wine (ask your older friends to get you one) and get wine drunk in your apartment or house! Wine is good for the soul, and wine nights always end up crazy fun.

3. Find a concert.

Look online for small concerts that may be going on in Kent, around Kent, or even downtown Akron. It’s a change of scenery and a super fun way to party without the alcohol (or with it).

4. Attend 18+ clubs.

Brewhouse is an 18+ bar in Downtown Kent that is always a fun with a crazy atmosphere. Don’t forget to drag your 21-year-old friends with you!

That's right… We love the F*ckin Brewhouse!!

5. Host or attend the pre-game.

Whether you want to go out to the frats (again) or not, host the pre-game in your apartment or house to get your friends together and party in the comfort of your own home.

6. …Opt out of drinking or going out for a night.

I know, I know- that’s a PREPOSTEROUS idea, but sometimes staying in to finish a paper or catch up on some reading or Netflix is better than a night out.
