It’s a big sweet world out there full of treats that are perfect for family togethers or simply to snack on. Don’t know where to start? No problem! Here are 5 sweets to satisfy your sweet tooth.

This recipe is perfect for a not too sweet treat.

1. Chocolate Filled Crescents

This recipe is the perfect balance of sweet and soft when you’re looking to satisfy those sweet cravings. I love this recipe especially since it is not overly sweet. The sweetness of the chocolate and gooey dough is the perfect combination. When you’re looking to liven up your sweets game, try this recipe out.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of crescent rolls ( there should be 8 total)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup powdered sugar

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350F. Separate your dough into 8 triangles. Add in your chocolate chips by placing a tablespoon of them on the wide side of each triangle. Roll up your crescent by starting at the shortest end and rolling up to the widest part. Place on an un-greased pan or baking dish. Bake your rolls for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and lightly sprinkle with your powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy.

This sweet treat allows you to show off your creative side.

2. Vanilla Cupcakes

This sweet treat is great for any get togethers or when you’re craving that light fluffy sweetness. And with Christmas right around the corner, this is a great artsy culinary project that you can show off to all your friends and family. When you’re looking for a sweet treat that will turn heads this season, try this recipe.

Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 3 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 cups guar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of water

Frosting

  • ½ cup salted butter
  • ½ cup shortening
  • 1 ½ tbsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp water or milk

Directions

Begin by preheating your oven to 350F. Add in your flour, baking powder, sugar and salt to a large bowl and combine. Set to the side. In another mixing bowl, add your milk, vanilla extract, vegetable oil and eggs to a medium sized bowl. Stir thoroughly until thick and creamy. Next, add in your wet ingredients to the dry and beat until thoroughly combined. Note, that you’ll want to add in your water slowly here. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl. The batter will be thin, but don’t worry about it, we aren’t finished! Fill your cupcake liners about half way and bake for 15 to 17 minutes. You can also do the toothpick test. If you poke a toothpick or knife into your cupcake and it comes out cleanly, it is ready! Remove the cupcakes from the heat and let sit for 2 minutes. Make your frosting by combining your butter and shortening into a large mixing bowl. Add your powdered sugar and mix until smooth followed by your vanilla extract. Add your water and or milk, mix until smooth. Pipe your frosting on your cupcakes. Serve and enjoy.

These sweet treats are perfect for a quick snack around the holidays.
